As part of our design deep-dive for we stepped away from our desks and devices and walked into the timeless beauty of the resort’s setting in the stunning Boyton Canyon. We slowed down to soak in colors, the flora and fauna, and the magnetic energy of this special place. 

That sense of timelessness became a key source of inspiration, and perhaps part of what led to Mii amo’s most recent recognition with 2025 Best of Best Award, honoring the most influential design work of the past 20 years.

It was a privilege to work on the refresh of this much-loved destination, and we’re so pleased that it continues to be a favorite destination, and design leader, to so many. Congrats to our partners on this project, . 

And a big congratulations to all the other entrants and winners of this year’s Best of Year Awards. We’re proud to be part of such an inspiring design community.

We’re honored to announce that EDG is a finalist in Interior Design’s Best of Year Awards for Marketing & Branding Collateral.

Alongside our interior design work for the historic property (which we’ll reveal soon!) our identity for Mansión Mihura captures the soul of this iconic Buenos Aires mansion, weaving together vintage influences, architectural details, custom icons, and a richly layered graphic system that reflects its intriguing, story-filled world.

From French Blue and gold accents to the “Sipping Statue” and checkerboard motifs, every element connects the mansion’s legacy with a fresh, contemporary spirit.

Compelling design isn’t defined by square footage or layout. It’s about intention and storytelling.

“3 Small Bedroom Ideas to Steal from Hotels” in the current issue of Sunset Magazine features two of our guest room designs that create spaciousness through intentional design. For Lido House in Newport Beach, we extended the typical nightstand into a floor-to-ceiling storage surround that draws the eye upward, creating a sense of height and spaciousness within the hotel’s coastal-home motif. And at the newly opened Appellation Healdsburg, the custom combination sofa and storage piece is a beautiful, hardworking expression of California craft, part of the heart of the new culinary-first resort.

A comfortable guest space doesn’t always mean more room; it simply needs a thoughtful approach.

We have a special love for restaurant design, so collaborating with this team to create a culinary-first hospitality brand has made this project so special. Walking into the resort puts you at the heart of the kitchen, and the culinary magic.

At Appellation Healdsburg, “design is an extension of the chef’s art and every guest feels connected to the land and its makers,” says Jennifer Johanson, EDG President.

At EDG, every brand begins with a story—and every story begins with place.

For Appellation Healdsburg, we crafted the graphic design and identity system inspired by the olive trees that root the property in its landscape. Their sculptural branches became the foundation for an abstract pattern that flows through signage, collateral, and guest touchpoints—uniting the experience through form, texture, and story.

From a bird’s-eye view, Healdsburg’s vineyards and orchards transform into a tapestry of lines and circles—a visual reflection of the region’s agricultural rhythm. A palette of golden vines, lush greens, and warm earth tones mirrors the beauty of the land.
At the center stands the Appellation “A,” marked by a bold dot—you are here.
A reminder that every Appellation property is narrative-driven, anchored by place, and designed to celebrate connection.

We don’t design with awards in mind. We design to tell one-of-a-kind stories and create transportive spaces.

But it is wonderful to be recognized for all the hard work. And a thrill to receive the top honor in the resort category at this year’s International Hotel & Property Awards for our work on the Four Seasons Cabo San Lucas Resort and Residences.

When we led the redesign of the flagship location of the Chatterbox Café, the ask was to create a space of approachable luxury. For this newest location, our brand & design teams worked in lockstep to create a new expression fitting the five-star surroundings while staying true to the spirit of the original.

A few callouts of the Macau location:
An arcade entrance inspired by Singapore’s iconic shophouses, reinterpreted in arched metal with acrylic and glass insets.

Custom artwork by where key menu ingredients—lobster, coconuts and other favorites—float freely through lush greenery, untethered by gravity or convention.

Our branding for Firn at Populus, the first rooftop bar in Seattle’s historic Pioneer Square neighborhood is a fresh, urban perspective that connects to the flora that defines the landscape of the Pacific Northwest.

The evergreen forests surrounding the city guided our color palette while the neighborhood’s industrial heritage lent to the slightly mechanized feel of the wordmark.

The cocktail menu of this lively bar is organized by ice type, a clever reference to the name, Firn—the word for compacted snow just before it becomes ice. Our hand-drawn library of ice, from smooth spheres to slushy stacks, give a sense of play and underlines the dedication to craft throughout the hotel and certainly here to the artists working behind the bar.

We’re not sure which we love more, the identity design we created for Maison Lodi café and bakery by Chef Charlie Palmer, or the loaf of bread one of our team cooked up while proudly wearing it.
