I know.
Before anyone thinks it or says it…

I realize this is the world’s least accurate Pride palette. Not a rainbow in sight.

But if you’ve followed me for more than five minutes, you know I’m not much of a rule follower, especially when it comes to color.
Or home.
Or people.

I’ve always believed the best spaces are the ones that reflect the essence of the person living inside them. The quirky stuff. The bold stuff. The parts that make you unmistakably you.

So here’s my slightly off-brand, definitely not rainbow, Pride Month post…

Let’s celebrate colorful lives. Colorful homes. And colorful humans.

Guest rooms are one of the few places in a home where you can loosen the tie a little.
A little whimsy.
A little color.
A pattern that makes you smile.
A lamp that feels more like jewelry than lighting.

Not every room has to be serious.

Guests are only there for a few days. Give them something unexpected. Layers of texture. A touch of personality.

They say, “Stay awhile.”
And that doesn’t always mean they need to always be quiet.
But… they do always need to be comfortable!

True Story.

She thought we were talking about tile.
We weren’t.

We were talking about Sunday mornings.
About music in the background.
About where her kids would sit when they came home one day with babies of their own.
About a room that could hold life instead of just look good on Instagram.

People think designers obsess over materials. And I do obsess.
But what I’m really doing, is designing for the way somebody reaches for olive oil barefoot at midnight.
Designing kitchens that make you want to dance while the pasta water boils…
for spaces so alive and soul-filled you catch yourself swaying without even realizing it.

That’s where the real magic is.
