Welcome to our new Senior Project Architect, Jennifer Alrutz, RA! Jen studied on both the East and West Coasts, obtaining a BFA at Syracuse NY College of Visual and Performing Arts and Master of Architecture at Southern California Institute of Architecture. Jen's academic training in architecture and the fine arts includes digital imaging, photography, ceramics, and sculpture. Throughout her career, Jen has continued to invest time in hands on artistic endeavors, finding that it strengthens all the computer modeling that she does. Experienced in all phases of design from concept to construction administration, Jen brings an understanding of the collaboration and attention to detail needed to take a project from a plan to a reality.

Welcome to our new Architectural Designer, Robert Anderson! Robert has a Magna Cum Laude B.ARCh from IIT where he was on a team that advanced to the finals for the 2024 Solar Decathlon. At the beginning of his career, he developed his public speaking skills educating hundreds of passengers as a guide on Chicago architectural boat tours. He shared what was scripted for him as well as interesting facts he had discovered during his own research. Robert is fascinated with all aspects of architecture and design, particularly as it relates to healthcare planning. He enjoys field work as it provides opportunities to interact with clients and consultants, and to see how facilities function. Robert is particularly adept at creating models, plans, and renderings that serve as useful visualization tools.

Northwestern Medicine Project Manager of Planning and Construction, Jay D**g, is pictured with Dave Mikos, Anderson Mikos Architects, ltd. Chairman + CEO, Varsha Visal, Senior Project Manager, and Deb Paulik, Senior Project Designer, Interiors. All were pleased to attend a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at Northwestern Medicine’s Outpatient Center in Glenview, Illinois. Coordinated efforts between Pepper Construction Group, Stantec, (MEP) Cardosi Kiper Design Group, TLC Engineering Solutions (MEQ) and CEA&A Structural Engineers made this project possible. Events like this remind us why we practice 100% healthcare architecture and design!

Paschen, NNI Structural Engineers, IMEG Medical Equipment Planning, and RTM Engineering Consultants to build out UChicago Medicine's highly technical 1,000-square-foot space for a control room, operating room and intraoperative MRI (iMRI). AMA has been privileged to host Jasmine Jones, a sophomore from Columbia College Chicago's Interior Architecture program for an Externship this week!

Columbia alumni Deb Paulik, Senior Interior Designer and Kaitlyn Daniluk, Interior Designer, demonstrated how to pull a sample box for a client. BIM Manager Charlie Matthew and Interior Designer Gail Meyers showed some Revit tricks. Dave Mikos, Chairman and CEO, provided insights about business strategy and how to improve as a designer including the advice to “sketch every day.”
