My church (United Methodist Church of Oak Grove) provides an after school program for the middle and high school students during the school year. For the 2nd year in a row the kids have helped me paint a barn quilt. Last year was a wolf because we are The Den. This year is this gnome for the community garden behind the church.

In order to have a piece displayed in the fair, you have to complete the paperwork prior to July 21st & pay the $5. Fee. If you need the paperwork, pm me your email and I'll send you the link.

C.J. has finished her latest Barn Quilt. She has completed what she calls a 4 patch for her house. Her barndo is black & she has used many jewel tones in her pieces to bring out the beauty. The most recent piece completed is Carole Montgomery's Thistle Rose pattern. I'm including all 4 for you to see. They are truly works of art!

Laurie & Teresa wanted to come to a class but I'm on summer break. They asked about a kit and a short instruction & i was happy to take care of that. Laurie is done & Teresa is right behind her. This is not an easy pattern to start with but she did a great job perfecting it!

It's time to seal those projects. I have 4 waiting for me to drag out the sealant. If you would like to have your project spray sealed, I need it brought over by Friday & they will be done by Sunday. The cost is $5. Per piece.

A friend & I visited Powell Gardens today to see the "Barn Quilt" exhibit created by Belger Arts in Kansas City. It was more of a mixed media show but I get what they were trying to do. Tina has been painting again & this time she's sharing the beauty. She made this one for her friend, who immediately put it up on her pavilion. After looking at it, she said "i want one for my house too", so she came and picked up another kit. Love it!!!
