Mahjong 101 is designed for complete beginners. No experience, no Mahjong group, and absolutely no idea what a Bam, Crak or Charleston is required. 😉

We’ll walk you through the fundamentals of American Mahjong step-by-step and get you around the table actually playing.

I have no idea what I was saying here. But I know exactly what I was feeling.

Every week, a new group of people gathers around our tables. They learn something new, laugh with people they may not have known before, put down their phones and spend a couple of hours actually together.

And maybe that’s why I love this so much.

We knew from the beginning that Mahjong Social was about more than learning a game. We wanted to create a reason to get out of the house, put down our phones and gather around a table again.

But watching it actually happen? That’s pretty special.

I think we’re all craving a little more of that. 🧡

Our new 102 workshop is designed for those who have attended one of our beginner classes (or have dabbled in American Mahjong) and are ready to better understand the nuances of the game, build strategy, and play with greater confidence and intention.

You don’t need to be an expert. You just need to know the basics and be ready to build on them.

Something has grown around the table.

When we introduced Mahjong Social, we hoped people would come together to learn American Mahjong.

And they did.

But somewhere between the tiles, the laughter, the questions, and the next hand, we realized something:

People weren’t just falling in love with American Mahjong.
