San Maris

Something is coming.

I built the Discovery Trio for the same reason I started making candles at all, not everyone starts in the same place. I wanted to have an offering for those that didn't know where to start.

Caminos if you need him to walk with you first.
Madre de Aguas if you need to be held.
Paloma if you're looking for stillness.

An altar is a practice, not a purchase.
It's less about what you buy and more about what you keep coming back to. A few honest basics on how we think about it.

Abre Camino.
Red my mothers rooster.
The rooster is one of Elegguas oldest offerings.

This is where every ritual begins.

YOUR RITUAL, LOUDER

Caminos means roads // paths. It’s the one tied to Elegguá, the one who opens the way before anything else can begin. The third candle we launched in the line up after the Dos Aguas (two waters). We have reason to all our launches. 🕯️🖤

That’s my own Elegguá in the second photo, not a prop, the one I keep and work with. We start everything with him. In ceremony, he’s asked first, before anyone else, because nothing else can open until he does.

This is where every ritual begins.

This is what "small batch" actually looks like to me, every vessel I label by hand, before a single one ships. This is not fast but that’s kinda the point. We take our time to check for quality and sit with the candle before you receive it.

San Maris is now restocked on the shelf at Two Two in Oakland and Crimson Horticultural Rarities, two spaces we're genuinely proud to be part of. Go say hello, and tell them we sent you.

San Maris means saint ocean. It's the closest name we could find for a brand built from Dominican roots, a hospital room, and the belief that scent carries what words can't. This is where it started.

Top notes first, then the heart, then what lingers in the room long after the flame is out.

Madre de Aguas, note by note.

Her day is Monday.
