A few of my favorite photos of our Bernal Heights project, as featured this week by . Excited to finally be able to share these now that the cat’s out of the bag! This project was a dream in every way - especially thanks to my wonderful clients and our team of ultra-talented collaborators. I’m so in love with how it turned out. More to come!

ICYMI: Our Rockridge craftsman project was featured by Sunset: https://www.sunset.com/home-garden/home-tours/oakland-rockridge-craftsman-house

Every time a publication features our work is an honor, but this one is extra special. I grew up with Sunset in our house, and my mom grew up with it in hers. I was at my grandmother's bedside with my mom when this feature came out -- a very special full circle moment, indeed. ❤️

This 1910 Craftsman had a cramped layout and dark interiors. Designer Emily Finch turned into an open space that is light and bright.

Our Rockridge Craftsman project, as featured by . ✨ This project is referenced time and again by new clients who call because they love the warm, organic feeling of this home and how we honored the original architecture. A tremendous compliment, and a favorite project for us, too!

This family room is open to the beautiful new kitchen (swipe), perfect for entertaining. Which space should we share next?

📍On Site: Russian Hill

Our talented team is busy transforming the top floor of this historic Greek Revival home into a spectacular primary suite. We have Calacatta Verde going down on the bathroom floor, several beautiful new skylights, spacious vaulted ceilings (where we previously had barely 7’!), and a gracious new stairway.

Next up: a sexy cast iron soaking tub, loads of millwork to mimic the original architectural details, oak floors to perfectly match downstairs, and eventually all our pretty fixtures and furnishings. Things are moving fast!

Serene primary suite in one of our recent Orinda projects 🫧

This bedroom belongs to two very busy parents, and we wanted to create a peaceful retreat where they could relax & unwind. I consider a great primary suite to be the design equivalent of putting on your own oxygen mask before helping others, which we especially encourage for our clients with kids!

Special moment of appreciation for all the hand stitched textiles in this space, especially the bolster pillow which is made from vintage Hmong prayer cloth by . The embroidery and batik patterns are believed to have protective powers and bring good health, and we hand selected this one-of-a-kind beauty specifically for these clients who are, in every way, a dream. 🤍

Thank you for including us in your recent bathrooms feature! Creating spaces that feel warm and inviting is a core part of our design philosophy, so this was an especially meaningful piece to be featured in.

This is the primary suite at one of our recent Orinda projects, nestled among the most beautiful oak trees which give this tub one of the best views in the house. The whole room is wrapped in Roman clay and filled with various pieces handmade by artisans in Morocco, including the brass pendant pictured here.

Looking forward to sharing more of this project in the coming weeks!

We photographed this project back in April and we can’t show most of it for a few more months because something really exciting is in the works (!!) but I get to share a couple little sneak peeks and this one had to be first. This is actually the first shot we captured in a glorious, whirlwind, super fun two-day shoot, and she’s definitely one of my favs. The way the morning light is seeping in through the trees and making everything glow - gah! I feel like I can smell the coffee brewing now.

is an utter genius with the camera and ’s florals + styling truly brought this home to the next level. This whole shoot was a dream and I can’t wait to share more.

Now off to make some stuffing and drink some c***r. 🥂 Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate!

A chair that once was my great grandmother’s and occupied various corners of my childhood home now lives in a little nook in our bathroom. Honestly, I wasn’t sure how I would feel about bringing her here until I did, and then I realized it was exactly where she needed to be. She holds a lot of history, both cheerful and sad, but having her here feels surprisingly peaceful, harmonious, like a new chapter. 🤍 During a tender season for so many, I’m feeling grateful for my happy, safe home and all the healing and love that brought us here. May we all find moments of gratitude this week, and may we always move towards healing, peace, and harmony. 🕊️

So rewarding to see this beautiful custom ottoman come to life! She’s wrapped in two one-of-a-kind vintage Peruvian frazadas which we hand-selected for not only color and size, but also to create the perfect interplay of pattern between top and sides. We went through a few design iterations, carefully reviewed all the details in shop drawings (had to get the gently sloped sides just right!), and she was lovingly built and upholstered by one of our talented trade partners in LA. Here she is, home at last in our clients’ boisterous family room, atop a custom handknotted wool rug from Marrakesh. A match made in heaven!
