" Our Story The Avista story began in 1965, when the Cimino family first established a reputation for uncompromising hardwood craftsmanship on Long Island. Joseph Cimino grew up in the trade, starting his apprenticeship under his father’s watchful eye at just 12 years old. Today, with over 34 years of personal, hands-on experience, Joseph continues that legacy of excellence, blending old-school discipline with modern, high-performance technology. Why Homeowners Trust Avista:
A Lifetime of Expertise: Joseph doesn't just manage the business; he is a master craftsman who has lived and breathed flooring for over three decades. The 1-Day Advantage: We’ve perfected a refinishing process that gets you back in your home in 24 hours with no dust and zero chemical odors. Specialized Focus: We are flooring specialists, not general contractors. By focusing exclusively on wood and luxury vinyl, we provide a level of detail that "all-in-one" handymen simply can't match. Owner-Led Integrity: Every job is overseen by Joseph personally. We don’t use sub-crews; we use our family name and our 60-year reputation as our guarantee. The Avista Values: Quality Without Compromise
At Avista Flooring, we believe your home deserves more than a "quick fix." We operate on three core principles to ensure every client receives a premium experience:
Owner-Led Excellence Joseph Cimino is on-site for every project. This ensures that the high standards he learned decades ago are met on every square foot we touch today. Specialized Expertise Because floors are our only business, we invest in the best equipment and the highest-grade, eco-conscious materials. This focus allows us to provide master-level craftsmanship in both our 1-day refinishing and complex new construction installations. A Commitment to Integrity We stand behind our work. Our reputation is built on honesty, clear communication, and the promise that we treat your home with the same respect we treat our own. When we give you our word, we back it up with a lifetime of experience.
