This was Oak Tree a few weeks back - and what you’re watching is almost entirely electricians.
Because when your lighting plan looks like ours, they’re in the house for a while.

Toe kick lighting. Interior cabinet lighting. Under counter. Cove lighting built into the crown molding. Under cabinet. Bookcase lighting. New recessed lights and sloped ceiling lights. And then, of course, the fixtures.

Lighting is the thing that makes everything else in a room feel intentional. Get it wrong and even the most beautiful space falls flat. Get it right and you don’t notice the lighting at all - you just feel the room.

The final reveal is still coming. But this is what it takes to get there.

What makes a kitchen?

For the Urban Ranch, it wasn’t about what happens on the cooktop. He doesn’t even cook, but he still ordered top of the line appliances.

Why? Because it was about having the space feel like everything he wanted - refined, ready for anything, and built for his life, not a lifestyle he doesn’t have.

Full suite of Thermador appliances. Custom work and storage solutions designed around how he actually lives. Those brass pendant lights doing exactly what statement lighting is supposed to do. A room that handles a dinner party without breaking a sweat.

Then there’s the dining room. Walls of windows. A table custom built by a local craftsman, paired with chairs imported from Brazil. Beyond the glass - a pool with a waterfall, split rail fencing, and rolling pastures as far as you can see.

You don’t have to cook to love your kitchen. You just have to know what you want in one.

This is the material palette for Blattner Energy.

When a company moves into a new building, the goal isn’t just to furnish it. It’s to make it look and feel like who they are. For Blattner, that meant starting with their brand and building the palette from there.

The blues aren’t just a design choice - they represent their corporate identity, carried into the space through tile, fabric, and finish.

Material selection here also had to account for how these spaces actually get used. Blattner has construction workers coming in and out from the field every day. So beyond looking right, everything in this palette has to work hard. Durable surfaces. Finishes that hold up. Materials that can take it.

Good commercial design is both. Beautiful and built for it.

Is a silly little quirky tune okay for this one? We think so.

Today we started a project we’ve been planning for 18 months.

Blattner Company, one of the leading clean energy contractors in the world, trusted us to transform their offices, warehouse, and learning center into spaces that match the scale of what they do.

This is not a small project. And it didn’t start small either. Eighteen months of planning, sourcing, and designing before a single thing moved today.

We don’t just design homes for people, we also design the places where they work.

Thomas Simpson came to us with a vision for a high end luxury salon, and we worked closely with him through every finish to make sure it stayed his.

What we ended up with is a space that holds its own next to the best salons in New York, Los Angeles, Paris, and Milan. It just happens to be downtown Oklahoma City.

Day 1 vs. now. We’re not done yet, but look at this space.

The partial structural wall between the kitchen and living room is gone. What used to be two separate rooms now feel much more connected. And that sweeping view tells you everything. A completely reconfigured kitchen with new cabinetry, totally customized to how our clients use their kitchen.  In the living room, beautiful cabinetry adorns the wall opposite of the kitchen, lending much-needed architectural interest and bonus storage. New lighting throughout, a dining room with a gorgeous grasscloth look vinyl wallpaper and a redesigned powder bath that now has a completely different personality. We also redesigned their laundry room and pantry, rounding out the main floor of this Oak Tree home.

This time in a project is one of our favorites: the moment when individual decisions, the cabinet style, the lighting and fixture finishes, the wallpaper pattern, etc., stop being separate choices and start working as one room.

We’re almost done. The final reveal is coming.

These Aren’t Cabinet Doors

That wall of cabinetry? One of them is a refrigerator. The other is a freezer.

We hid them in plain sight, and no one ever knows they’re there until we show them.

This is what happens when function does not get to win over design. Both win.

This is Mike’s bedroom and bathroom suite - and it is exactly what he dreamed of.
Inky black paint, a chic and comfy headboard, a hidden television at the foot of his bed, a statement art piece that stops you the moment you walk in, and a bathroom wrapped in dramatic stone with a freestanding soaking tub. Every detail pushed toward bold, moody, and intentional.

This is the kind of project that reminds you why you do this work. When a client trusts you to fully commit to a vision - and it lands like this.

Dark and moody is very much still having a moment. Spaces like this are exactly why.

What a remodel looks like behind the gates of Oak Tree.
 
Most people only ever see the after photos. Here’s what it looks like a couple of weeks before completion.
 
Right now there are four different trade crews on site at this Oak Tree remodel in Edmond: an electrician finishing the wiring, a countertop crew setting a dramatic quartzite countertop and backsplash, a hardwood crew prepping floors, and our team making sure they are working the same plan.
 
This is the part of full-service design that never makes it to the highlight reel. Coordinating schedules, walking the site daily, catching the small problems before they become expensive ones.
 
A couple more weeks of this, and it’ll be hard to believe it was ever a construction zone.
