In a season where social media gives us a glimpse into everyone’s daily lives, businesses, accomplishments, and dreams, it can be so easy to find yourself comparing what you’re doing to what everyone else is doing.
And if I’m being vulnerable, I’ve found myself doing that too. Sometimes it inspires me, and sometimes it makes me question whether I’m doing enough.
But then I remind myself of my heart. Of our values. Of why we started Petal Stone in the first place.
I know what I want our Mercantile and Homestead to be. I know the thought, intention, and love that go into the products we choose to offer. I know the long days, the late nights, the sacrifices, and all the little things that nobody sees behind the scenes.
And then someone walks through our doors.
A familiar face. A regular. Someone who drove out of their way just to grab one of my coffees. Someone who comes back week after week because they love what we’re creating here.
And I could almost cry thinking about it.
Because in a world where there are so many beautiful coffee shops, creative coffee stands, talented home bakers, and incredible small businesses popping up everywhere, you still choose us.
Here I am, making coffee with my simple ingredients and simple flavors, trying to be thoughtful about what goes into every cup and every product on our shelves.
And you still choose to come.
I don’t think you realize how much that means to me.
We’re not trying to be the biggest, the fanciest, or the trendiest. We’re just a family pouring our hearts into something we believe in. Trying to create a place where good food, simple ingredients, honest work, and community come together.
A place where you feel welcomed. Where we remember your face. Where you can slow down for a moment and enjoy something made with intention.
Sometimes I get so caught up in everything that still needs to be done that I forget to look around and appreciate what is already happening right in front of me.
We’re becoming a little part of people’s routines, their mornings, their families, and their community.
And that means more to me than I could ever put into words.
So to every single person who has walked through our doors, shared our posts, told a friend about us, made the drive, or simply stopped in for a cup of coffee…
Thank you. Truly.
You are supporting so much more than a little Mercantile. You’re supporting a family, a homestead, a dream, and a whole lot of hard work.
And you’re reminding me that we don’t have to look like everyone else to create something meaningful.
Maybe the beauty of Petal Stone is that it’s simply ours. And somehow, you’ve made it yours too.
With so much love and gratitude,
Petal Stone Homestead & Mercantile
