Highway 24 Garage Sale in Kansas starts June 5th. Here is some info: From the East it starts in Riley and goes all the way to Goodland. 300 miles, 30 citywide garage sales. This is what Pam and I are doing. We usually leave very early Thursday morning and hit as many sales as we can until we get to Colbly. This year we have a free room at Prairie Band Casino north of Topeka so we are staying there Wed night. It will save us an hour Thursday am. I'm personally not going to gamble.
We will then head out to Riley and start hitting the sales, driving all the way to Colby. One of the early stops will be in Miltonvale. There is a house called "The Yellow House" . Usually have great stuff at reasonable prices. We always buy from them. We also stop in Cawker City so my grandson and I can get our picture in front of the world's biggest ball of twine. End the day in Colby. Lots of places to stay there.
Friday we head out to Goodland, KS. It's kind of a pain for us because of the time change between the 2 towns. Usually lots of sales there, so its worth it. From. There we start heading East and make it to Osborne where we stay the night at the Crossroads Inn. Looks rough, but its cheap and clean. There is a great place to eat in Osborne as well. The Doghouse grill has really good food. Sat morning we keep heading west till Manhatten. From there it's on our way home. Overall we really like this trip. Many small towns make for interesting finds. If you do this sale, Happy Hunting. We will show our treasures when we get back.

Here are some of our finds on the 56 Highway sale. The Electrotherapy machine was the strangest. Big box of hippos (67) one is pewter a other is made from green stone called malachite which apparently is highly collectible. One nice uranium vase. Vintage CO-OP rain gage still in its original box. Unique wash tub and stand (about half normal size. Cowboy toy chest. Lots more cool stuff.

Woo and I have made it home from the Highway 56 Garage sale last evening. It has its ups and downs. Ups were we found some really good stuff. Down side was they were sometimes hard to find. Seems the "Committee decided to NOT have many signs pointing to where the sales were. Not really sure why. Most sales only had signs in the yard. None on main roads or on Highway 56. We only survived because we downloaded thier map. Unfortunately, Woo had to spend much of her time looking up addresses and entering them into Google maps. Real pain in the butt. Overall we hit onky 25 sales on our way between Council Grove and Great Bend on Thursday. (Day before sale actually started). 139 miles between the two. Stayed at the Frontier Inn in Great Bend. It was $85 and clean. It was much better on the way home. We hit about 75 sales. Overall we drove 610 miles. 102 each way from Olathe to Council Grove. 139 each way from Council Grove to Great Bend. And 120 or so just driving around searching. Lucky for us our van uses E-85 gas which is about 85 cents to a dollar cheaper than unleaded. Pictures in next post. On a scale of 1-10 i would give the sale a 6. Mainly because of the sign issue.

Very excited to find this item. With input from chat GP I believe this is an ArtDeco 1930s-1950s Electrotherapy Device. Commonly used by Quack physicians. Definately one of the strangest things we have ever found. My grandson Teddy and I are intrigued, but we will definately NOT plug it in.
