So I learned something new thanks to Leroy's Cajun Cookware. Apparently these new aluminum burners don’t pair well with the classic cast iron cracklin pots. The classic pots aren’t truly round and aren’t a true match for the new aluminum burners. They are designed for the newer pots out today which actually have a round bottom. I should have gotten a smaller diameter burner to prevent this. As a result my pot got stuck, so I had to figure a way to get it to release. After a couple hours of tapping with a rubber mallet and a piece of 4x4 it finally came out. My biggest concern was damaging this pot so I took my time with it. I have some ideas to retrofit this burner to prevent this from happening again. So, in conclusion don’t be like me 😂. Give the professionals a call first and let them properly size the burner for you.

I traded in the pot for a pit last weekend. Watch me break in this Old Smokey. We had a little bit of everything. Even tried some poorman burnt ends with that 's Cajun Mop Sauce. I think I have a favorite new bbq sauce now. Stuff is off the chain. 📍
