How do we keep the flow and cohesiveness of the interior design of a home? Simple: Color and Finishes. Carrying a main or core color and a main finish throughout the home will make rooms and spaces flow into one another with ease. You can use different shades and hues of the main core color within the design palette and accent with coordinating, secondary colors for interest and depth. Rooms must have depth and levels to feel welcoming and if you wonder why some spaces make you want to linger, that is the reason! Carrying the core or main finish on door hardware, furniture hardware and decorative elements throughout helps everything meld and flow together. Using this simple rule will help the design of the home feel effortless.
