We visited a Masai Village and they made me jump. Obviously I can’t jump. The men and boys herd goats and cows right along side prides of lions and they all get along just fine. I asked the man giving us a tour of his village who happened to be the chief’s son what they do if a lion eats one other animals and he simply said: we kill it. He said the last time they had to do it was about 4 years ago. The women work together to make the small homes out of sticks, cow manure and mud. Takes them about 8 days to make a home and they last for 10 years. Saddest school room I’ve ever seen.

The big five: Rhinoceros, Cape Buffalo, Leopard, Lion and Elephant.

The leopard drama continued. After leopard passed our truck, it went hunting in the grasses and caught a steenbok, a small deer like animal. Leopard then walked past us again and took the meal up to her secret lair to keep it away from hyenas and other scavengers. Very cool.

Leopard encounter. We lucked out and got a close up of a leopard. Our guide said he has never seen one so close. It walked along side our jeep.

Ended the day with an evening trek to see the hippos come out at dusk. They spent the night eating grasses and shrubs in the fires and spend the day in the lake. Lake Masek.

Amazing safari day. We saw so many animals, it was difficult to process. Elephants, wildebeests, impalas, cheetahs, lions, storks, wild dogs, hyenas and others.

Stayed on the Serengeti at the Nyuki Migration Camp. Amazing glamping experience. Tonight I heard large animals chomping on grass outside of my tent.
