I finished making more Mama Loons yesterday.

This is my original design. Much bigger than a traditional suncatcher, at 9" in diameter these become a notable addition to a room and truly glow with the morning or afternoon light.

I took Saturday off to meet the kids and other family to celebrate two birthdays 🎂. Now it's back to work. First up (besides laundry) is to deal with the aftermath of finishing the feathers so I have room to actually create. As some of us say here in Minnesota-- Uff da.

So....Today has been a surprise. To be honest, I am still processing it.

But I can say my heart is filled with immense gratitude for you...all of you. Because you are the ones who helped me get to this moment in time.

The nine First Edition Water Feathers sold out in about 24 hours. I never expected anything close to that. Wow.

Thank You.

To those of you who were not able to get a feather and to those of you who want to collect all five styles of feathers in the Soar series, please know I have begun work on the nine First Editions of the next feather.

And...I am even more excited about this next design -- the color palette is going to be a little more striking and the subtle discoveries are going to go just a little deeper.

There are moments in life when a feather appears exactly when it is needed.

Across many cultures, feathers have long symbolized guidance, direction, hope and connection to something larger than ourselves.

The Water Feather is the first release in my new limited-edition series, Soar. (You can find the link in the comments.)

Each feather in the Soar series represents a place or moment where one might discover a fallen feather. Over time, five feathers will complete the series.

Only nine First Edition Water feathers will ever exist, and no two are exactly alike. I individually handcrafted each feather from different combinations of reclaimed and new wood.

Each feather stands on its own as a work of art and contains quiet details waiting to be discovered by those who linger a little longer.

Because the best stories rarely reveal themselves all at once.

29 years later my kids' diaper wipe boxes are still coming in handy. 😀😆😄

As you will soon see from an upcoming release, I believe in reusing when possible, because there's nothing better than a gorgeous piece of old wood or the perfect rusty bit to go into a collage.
