If you saw yesterday's live on YouTube, you know that I don't think that we need to buy Fall decor just to buy Fall decor...we need to get better at knowing what deserves to come home with us in the first place. 😂

I shared the two questions I ask myself whether I'm at a thrift store, shopping Amazon or standing in my own basement looking at something I bought five years ago:

💜 **Do I LOVE it?**

💜 **Does it fit my overall vibe?**

Because I love vintage.

I love new things too.

I just don't want all those things I love turning into a house full of clutter.

And that's really what we're going to be digging into this month: how to mix old + new, shop with intention and create a home that feels collected and pulled together without constantly adding more STUFF.

If you missed last night's Live, head over to my YouTube channel to watch the replay.

And tell me...

**What's harder for you?**

Finding things you love?

Or figuring out how to put everything you love together? 💜

🍂 **Before you buy another piece of fall decor...look around your house.**

Seriously.

You probably already own things that could completely change the way your home feels for fall.

And I'm going to prove it tonight. 😉

I'm taking things I already own, including vintage and thrifted finds, with a just a few new things and showing you how I'm “fall-ifying” them without completely redecorating my house or buying a bunch of seasonal stuff.

Because seasonal decorating should work WITH the home you've already created, not make you start over four times a year. 😂

🍂 **I'm LIVE tonight at 7 PM!**

And I want to know...

**What's ONE thing you'd like me to show or answer about decorating for fall?**

Mixing fall decor with vintage?

Using things that aren't technically “fall”?

Color?

Styling a mantel or table?

Making your rooms feel seasonal without adding clutter?

👇 Tell me below. I may answer your question tonight!

Is this summer going by crazy fast??

What have you been up to?
Howard & I had a great time doing the M-25/M-29 Garage sales not too long ago. We stopped for the mandatory ice cream along the way. We managed to find some great things. And, stop at a lot of great shops.

Had a girls’ night out at Wildwood Amphitheater not too long ago, too

Has anyone started decorating for Fall yet 😳. Lots of people are here on social media. I haven’t been ready for that yet.

Some stores even have their Christmas stuff out. I feel like I didn’t finish decorating for Spring yet 🙄

Howard and I have gone on several “Picking” road trips this summer

We love finding unexpected things along the way, like a dinner cruise in Bay City. Captain Dave even invited us to drive 😳

I’ve been sharing my finds and how I style them on my YouTube channel

The most important thing I want you to take away from it all is, You Do You 💜

Buy what you love. Don’t worry where you’re going to put it. That’s the easy part 😉

I’ll put the link to today’s video in the comments. I show you what the heck that thing is and what I did with it

I’d love to know what you would have bought

How about you??

I’ve got tons of plans for August that I’ll be sharing soon. 😊. I’d love to hear what you’ve been up to

Remember that vase that I showed you yesterday?

The one that I paid $12.50 for at the Goodwill? The one that no one else noticed...It was priced at $25, and I got it half price.
It's amazing what some spray paint and a little gel stain can do.

I was excited because of the size and shape of this one, and I knew that it wouldn't take much to turn it into something that looks like I bought at Pottery Barn instead of a thrift store.

I am loving thrifting and shopping for my house. I can't wait to show you what else I have found.

I paid $12.50 for this vase at the Goodwill on our way to Lexington.

Most people walked right by it because it was half off of $25, for the second week

As soon as I saw it, I knew EXCACTLY what I was going to do with it

Come back for part 2...I will show you what I did with it

Lately, I've been replacing some of the plastic pieces in our kitchen with vintage glass whenever I find something I truly love.

This pitcher immediately caught my eye.

I bought this at the Goodwill on our way to Lexington for $2.99

I thought it would make a beautiful water or homemade lemonade pitcher.

I wasn't even sure what it had originally been used for. I just loved the shape and the silver-plated lid. And the fact that it HAS a lid.

When I got home, I looked it up.

Turns out it's a vintage, hand-blown glass water pitcher made in Germany around 1900.

Similar ones are listed online anywhere from around $150 to $325

Now, I am a little nervous to use it...

But here's the funny part...

I really only bought it because it was exactly what I was looking for.

That's one of the best lessons thrifting has taught me:

Buy it because you love it.

Sometimes the value is just a happy surprise.

Want to see what else I found? I'll put the link to the video where I show you everything I brought home and why

When I first married Howard, I felt like we were playing “Beat the Clock” every time we went somewhere

Howard felt the need for speed and to beat his best time on a trip to Target

One of the best decorating decisions I ever made was convincing Howard to take the scenic route, slow down, and enjoy stopping along the way

This chair was one of my favorite finds on our recent trip to Lexington 💜
