This space is a perfect example of how I love to use color to transform a room🌈🎨. In this historic Neel Reid home—once drowned in white—I wanted the room to read red without actually being red.
After testing samples against the light, I chose Farrow & Ball’s dark reddish brown for the walls and paired it with a soft raspberry red trim, complementing the rich tones of the antique rugs. The often-overlooked fifth wall—the ceiling—casts a warm glow in Jim Thompson’s Rose Quartz Malachite paper, while the Dennis & Leen chairs find new life in plush Dedar velvet.
I’ve always been drawn to monochromatic palettes—they create the feeling of a boutique hotel: bold, intimate, and layered with texture. And of course, a showstopping table ties it all together.
Who says walls should have all the fun? 😉

Soft and serene was the mood of choice for this light-filled Birmingham sunroom with floor-to-ceiling windows. Celadon green, inspired by the client’s antique porcelain collection in the adjoining room, is layered with a calming pastel palette that celebrates the natural light. 🪟☀️

Look closely, and you’ll spot the tiger-patterned fabric on the chair and ottoman—a playful nod to the creative spirit of these clients who are anything but ordinary!🤍🐅

As everyone’s busy in their butlers pantrys putting away the Christmas serving pieces, I thought I would share one of my favorites where art and function collide! ✨
From the vibrant terracotta cabinetry to the eclectic decor, every corner is brimming with character. The Folk Art totem sculpture was sourced to frame the arched window and the client’s collection of art is proudly displayed and even hangs from the ceiling!
A blend of style, storytelling, and practicality are what make this butlers pantry a memorable one.
