After far too long without a propane fire pit, we have brought one back into our lives with this solostove. It’s the ideal gathering place for our family during our cool California coastal evenings. No smoke, no embers, no mess, burn ban season friendly- the girls that get it get it! Sleek, easy set up, easy to use. We are so pumped to have it and I know we will use it a ton during the fast approaching Summer break, and beyond!

One step closer to my… I mean Tallula’s… beauty and beast dreams coming to life. She actually does really want this bookcase with a sliding ladder, but I am also genuinely excited.

No phones, no tracking on a smart watch, no water bottles. You came in for food, air conditioning, or your fave VHS. Not saying we were neglected… but our parents setting up outdoor movie nights and going on family bike rides is not what a 90s Summer was. If your kids aren’t missing for a minimum of 4 hours a day… and possibly setting fire to something- it is not the 90s. My husband used to play “get lost” where they would intentionally try and get lost in the literal woods and have to find their way home before dark.

My children are also not having a 90s Summer. They’re having a Summer with lots of outings (with us), limited screen time, and when they’re off solo I track them because 🚁

The universe cannot send a designer a builder for their life partner and expect the designer to simply not utilize those skills.

Life comes at you fast. But I really am so excited about my new gardening gloves 😂 they’re from gethigarden and they’re so comfortable and grippy and… my gawd I’m so old! Anyway how good does my rose tree look!? That’s a rhetorical question because I already know it looks amazing! Im so proud of it.

Garage exterior update, the trellis has been built. So excited about this. The plan has always been to build this trellis so a climbing rose can grow over it and help bring some color and life to this big blank wall. Lots more to do, but it’s all happening! Eeek.

After nearly 3 weeks of silence we’re back! I had surgery and have been recovering, so we took time off for that! But progress did happen on the garage prior to the surgery and I was finally was able to put this reel together for you. More work will continue this upcoming week; thanks for your patience with us and this project, we know it’s been slow 🫶🏼
