Charlotte is finally home and is resting and enjoying a change of scenery from the hospital room. We have her MealTrain set up if anyone would like to bring her and Shorty a meal and stop in for a quick visit. ♥️

Thank you again to all who have donated to her GoFundMe. It is still active if anyone else would like to contribute. (https://gofund.me/bbc13cc34)

Charlotte is now settled in at home following her tumor removal surgery. She has a lot of recovery ahead of her. During this time, she is unable to drive for at least a month. Shorty (Glen) and Robyn will be helping her as she heals, but comfort food and a visit from friends and loved ones will be w...

Update Thursday 8/13/26:

Mom came through her surgery on Monday. They got the tumor and she’s been up and walking. She is in a tremendous amount of pain but she’s making progress. She has not been released from the hospital yet.

Initially we were expecting 1-3 days in ICU. Today the doctor advised he will likely keep her through the weekend. Your continued support, healing thoughts, and donations are much appreciated by Charlotte and our family.

With a much longer anticipated hospital stay the expenses will continue to add up. Thank you to those who have donated already. I pray many blessings for you.

We will still do a meal train for them for a bit when they get home.

We are coming to our community to ask for prayer and patience as the co-owner, Charlotte Welch, faces a difficult medical challenge.

Her doctors very recently discovered a tumor on her spine near the base of her skull, along with a cyst sitting on her spine near her shoulder blade. The doctors believe the tumor is benign, but MRIs revealed it is growing quickly and is posing a significant risk due to the location. She is scheduled for surgery to remove the tumor on August 10th.

This major surgery will put her out of commission for a while. Robyn will be juggling managing Arabella’s and well as assisting in Charlotte’s care during her healing process.

We are unsure of all closures or shortened shop hours at this time. However we will be completely closed on Monday, August 10th.

We appreciate the community’s support as we navigate this.

For friends, family, or anyone that would like to help out, we have set up a GoFundMe to support Charlotte, as the medical expenses are already piling up. A MealTrain will be shared soon for anyone that would like to bring Charlotte and Shorty a meal once she returns home from the hospital.

Exactly what we have been trying to tell our customers about these online order-gatherers. They show up online like they are a local florist. They are not a brick and mortar store. They aren’t even a wire service. They take a HUGE amount of what the customer pays and then it goes to a wire service like FTD or Teleflora who gets another percentage and then it gets passed on to the local flower shops.

We turn down tons of orders from Avas Flowers. They do not send enough money to cover the cost of the bouquet. As a local flower shop we have no direct communication with the client. I have discovered anywhere from $30-$70 they kept from a customer. (Only because I knew them and they showed me their receipt and I showed them what actually got sent to us.).

Always always order directly from your local florist. You will get the most for your money. And I recommend choosing designer’s choice in most cases. Then you are getting a unique artistic bouquet from the designer- not a cookie cutter duplicate of what is on line.

Some of the ones to look out for:
Ava’s Flowers
Just Flowers
1-800-flowers
Ruth’s Roses
Flowers by Eva
From You Flowers
Blooms Today
Pro Flowers

We even deal with an online place called Arabella’s Flowers or something similar. They mail flowers and they are always in bad shape They have no phone number online. So when the customer is upset they end up calling us. It’s always in some other state and we have to explain it’s not us and that we never ship flowers.

Treat this post as a public service announcement and pass along to your friends!
