Friday Fun Fact! 🤓

Coconut oil is one of the superstar ingredients in our soaps! It’s loved for creating those big, fluffy bubbles and giving soap its rich cleansing power. 🫧✨

The use of coconut oil in soaps dates back to ancient times. Jumping ahead to the 19th century, coconut oil became especially important in soap making during the 1800s in tropical regions where coconuts were plentiful. Soap makers discovered that coconut oil created an incredible lather even in salt water — making it especially useful for sailors and coastal communities. 🌊⚓

Beyond soap, coconut oil has been used for centuries in beauty rituals to help soften skin and condition hair. In handcrafted soap today, it helps creates long-lasting bar with a creamy, luxurious lather that makes every wash feel a little extra special.

Shopping local is always a good idea. 🌿✨ This charming farm store near downtown Palisade is filled with thoughtfully curated goods, local flavors, and handcrafted treasures. We’re so happy to have a selection of our products available there alongside so many wonderful small businesses.

Bonus: it’s conveniently located near wineries, lavender farms, and great restaurants — making it the perfect stop during a day exploring the area. Every time we pop in to restock, we somehow leave with something special from the pantry or a unique handcrafted find.

The shop is stocked, there's new stuff coming in, and honestly it's a great time to stop by if you haven't been in for a while. Or even if you were just here last week.
Things move around and new products find their way in pretty regularly, so it always feels a little different than the last time.

And that's kind of the fun of it. You never really know what you're going to find. Someone came in for one thing last week and left with four. That's just kind of how it goes here. 😄

Local handmade goods, unique gifts, things you didn't know you needed… we've got a little bit of everything and we love seeing what people connect with.

Throwback Thursday! 🍃 Aspen — inspired by the golden glow of Colorado’s Aspen trees as they prepare for winter in the mountains. This handcrafted bar featured soft notes of birch, vanilla, and sandalwood, and was naturally colored with Brazilian yellow clay, activated charcoal, and annatto seed powder. ✨

Fun Fact Friday! 🤓

Lotion. We’ve all used it … but have you ever wondered about its origins? 🤔

The earliest evidence of the use of "lotion" dates back to 3000 BC! Ancient Egyptians blended oils, beeswax, and botanical ingredients to protect their skin from the harsh desert climate. These early moisturizers were handcrafted from simple, natural ingredients and often scented with herbs and flowers.

Fast forward to today, and many commercially sold lotions contain long ingredient lists filled with preservatives, synthetic fragrances, stabilizers, and fillers designed for long shelf life and mass production.

Sometimes the old ways really were beautifully simple. 🌿

As we head into summer, we’re often asked if we participate in farmers markets — and the answer is usually no for a couple of simple reasons:

☀️ Summer temperatures are just too hot for many of our products.
📦 Summer is also our busiest season for wholesale orders behind the scenes!

You’ll typically find us at early spring and fall/winter markets instead. ✨

And don’t forget — for a more personal shopping experience year-round, we’re always happy to welcome visitors to our shoppe by appointment. ✨

Throwback Thursday! 🍃

Here’s an early version of our Shave Bar! Back then, each bar was individually crafted in a round mold and sold without packaging. As much as we loved the look, it was very time-consuming.

As demand grew, we transitioned to larger loaf molds so we could cut into bars, add labels, and package them in recyclable Kraft boxes — making the process more efficient while keeping the same quality and care in every bar. 🧼✨
