The last project we did before our very well earned retirement. It took 4.5 years and we didn't finish it until the day before we moved to Ecuador! By that time, we were too worn out to bother taking photos of the interior... it didn't seem to matter anymore ~ it was the end of our careers ~ our business... it was time to move forward, which we have done! 8,000 sq feet, with 2,000+ sq feet of terraces/patios, 4 stories and yes, with an elevator, right on the ocean in Florida. We worked on and chose everything that went on the outside of the house including the driveway, and everything that went into the house but for construction items. Sorry for you all that there are few interior shots. I will post what I have, when I go through the shots that our furniture and cabinet maker took. His work and the work of our two faux finish artists made all the difference! We made a great team, but I am not sorry to hang it all up. Amen.
Well, we FINALLY finished working on this house that has taken 5 years of our lives), on the 20th of July and left for our new, retired life (in Cuenca, Ecuador ), on the 21st!! You may ask, why don't we have photos to show on this wonderful oceanfront 8,000 sq. Ft. house. There are several answers. One is that we actually were working so terribly hard to finish every minute detail before we left, that there was no time or energy to take photos. In addition, we've done so many outstanding projects over the last 38 years, with budgets in the hundreds of thousands to well over a million dollars...and yet, it's never been about showing all that we've done, as much as truly pleasing our clients. This, we've avoided fame and fortune, trading it for recognition amongst those who would hire us and allow us to do wonderful things for them...and for some remarkable stories, which we may someday publish....being ever careful to change the names and so on, to protect those whom the true stories are about. **If you wish to see some other photos of past projects, you may view our website..
If it's still working. That too, will most likely 'bite the dust' and there will be others to pick up the slack -- however, none to ever design nor handle themselves as we have and as all of our clients would say. Ciao! It's finally time for us to be able to think of ourselves and to do or not do, to dress and be as we want to, with no care as to what anyone else thinks or wants from us. Amen!!
