Cheney & Co Design

Cheney & Co Design Hi, I’m Jeri Cheney, the founder of Cheney & Co Design. I started Cheney & Co Design with a simple goal: to make the design process enjoyable and stress-free.

I help busy professionals and retirees in Logan, Utah, and beyond create homes that reflect their next chapter in life. With years of experience designing full homes, kitchens, baths, and second homes, I specialize in combining functionality with natural textures, calming palettes, and elevated design that feels personal and livable. My clients often say I bring a calming presence to what could ot

herwise feel overwhelming. I manage every detail—from space planning and sourcing to project oversight and final styling—so you can sit back and watch your dream home come together. When I’m not designing, you’ll probably find me hiking in the mountains, spending time with my family, or planning my next travel adventure. Let’s create something beautiful together.

A kitchen island is more than just extra counter space.

Its placement, proportion, sight lines, and function can completely change the way a kitchen feels and works.

When everything is thoughtfully considered, the space feels connected, balanced, and effortless.

A mudroom has to work hard, especially for a busy family. 🤍

For this space, we needed to fit in lockers, plenty of shoe storage, a bench, and a large closet for cleaning supplies and all of those not-so-pretty things every household needs somewhere to put. And, of course, it still needed to feel beautiful and intentional.

One of my favorite things to hear from a client is, “I would have never thought of that.”

Because that’s really what good design is about. Most of my clients come to me with great ideas and a pretty good sense of what they love. The hard part is figuring out how all those ideas work together: how much storage you need, where everything should go, what you see when you walk into the room, and how those little decisions come together to create one cohesive space.

That’s where we come in. ✨

This mudroom is still in the design phase, but I already love where it’s headed. I can’t wait to see this one come to life!

I will always be a sucker for the combination of wood and stone. There is something about layering natural materials that instantly makes a home feel warm, grounded, and timeless.

The texture of the stone paired with the warmth of the wood fireplace and beams brings so much character to this space without making it feel overly busy. Natural elements have a way of making a home feel both elevated and comfortable—and that is always the goal. 🤍

So grateful for kind words like these. It is such a privilege to be trusted with someone’s home and to create spaces that feel personal, beautiful, and truly reflective of the people who live there. Thank you for allowing me to be part of the process. 🤍

There's something special about seeing a home come to life before construction even begins.

Walking through a full-scale floor plan allowed these clients to experience their home's layout, visualize the flow of each space, and make confident design decisions before the first wall is built.

Thank you, for helping bring this vision to life!

We’re so close to the finish line on this kitchen remodel. The backsplash, pendants and faucet are still coming, but the cabinets, counters, paint and flooring and all the little details are already making this space feel so good.

The final layer is coming soon. I can't wait!

My beautiful mother in law passed away recently. Her life was simple, quiet, meaningful…. She didn’t have a lot that would be valuable in a worldly sense, but her home was cozy and comfortable.

It’s made me ponder about what truly makes a home feel special. I am a minimalist but I also love a home where there are stories in the art that is hung, or the small mementos that decorate our shelves.

These are a few things that my kids pulled from grandmas house to remind them of her. They will have a story to tell when people ask about them. 💕

Maintenance Free vs. Worth the Maintenance

Not everything in a second home needs to be maintenance free.

A pool requires upkeep. So does a fire pit, an outdoor kitchen, and that beautiful patio where everyone gathers at the end of the day.

But sometimes the things that require a little maintenance are the very things that create the memories.

I'd argue that some features aren't maintenance free, they're worth the maintenance.

I'm sharing more thoughts on designing a second home that's easy to enjoy (without feeling overwhelming) in my latest blog post. Link in bio.

What's something in your home that's worth the maintenance?
