A couple years ago I had my boyfriend design this bowl press for when I make pipes. I was frustrated with trying to make a teeny tiny pinch pot just the right shape, size, and thickness. I sat at the table using it this past spring and had the bright idea to share it with all my pottery friends. They loved it!
Since then, he has made many different sizes and shapes and created his own website offering them all to the mud crazed pottery masses!
In this video I am using it to make simple, lightweight, hollow beads. I’ve used them to add decorations to my mugs, made beads, and crafted perfect bowls for my pipes, the possibilities are endless!
