I had a rude awakening today.
Life has been chaotic so I started to look to the future to gaze my eyes upon a coming season that wouldn’t be so… much. I wanted to find some comfort in knowing life will be calmer soon.
I realized that this longed for season is not coming.
As I really looked ahead to what will be going on, in my family, in my personal life, in the world, I realized that life is not going to get easier. Sure, I could scale back on certain things, but many of them I cannot.
It feels a bit suffocating to think about, if I’m honest.
But that’s when it hit me, what I’m really looking for is peace.
I don’t know about you, but I need to get better at finding peace in moments rather than in a future date.
I need to learn to take advantage of the slow minutes in my day.
To breathe in renewed breaths.
To ground myself and know that the only moment I’m in is the current one.
To laugh and remember that joy is just as real and available to me as stress.
Do you need this, too?
We need to make sure we are focusing just as much on the beauty that lies around us as we do our to-do list and future.
I know it’s hard, and I know it takes a rewiring of the brain.
But getting to experience moments of peace in the present helps us build a reservoir of strength for whatever comes in the future.
A calmer and easier season may not be coming, but each precious moment is happening right this moment.
Take a deep breath, try to clear your mind, and look around at something that is beautiful or brings you gratitude.
Let that feeling sink in and remember it’s right here where you can get that moment of peace that your soul might desperately need.
Let God bring you the joy and peace….you can find rest in him. All you have to do is seek him with all of your heart ❤️
Be blessed today my friends ✝️🫶🏻
