🇫🇷 An Unforgettable Farewell Dinner at Bar Bohème – DTLV 🥂
We gathered for a very special occasion, a farewell dinner for our son, Gordon, before he leaves for his two-year church mission to Montreal! 🇨🇦 Since his next chapter is deeply rooted in French culture, was the perfect culinary bridge to his new home. ✈️
Over a leisurely two-hour dining experience, Enoch and I enjoyed the Prix Fixe while Gordon indulged in the full Chef’s Tasting Menu. Every single dish was spectacular, but these completely stole the show:
🥖 Homemade Parisian Baguette: A masterclass in baking with a crazy crisp crust and pillowy soft inside.
🐌 Escargots en Vol-au-Vent: Served in flaky puff pastry. Gordon found it interesting!
🦆 Foie Gras Terrine: Incredibly smooth and rich, pairing absolutely perfectly with the brioche toast.
🥩 La Belle Farms Duck: My personal favorite! Rich, incredibly flavorful, and executed beautifully.
🥣 Celery Root Velouté: An amazing black truffle soup with a velvety, rich truffle emulsion.
🐟 Sautéed Ocean Trout: Gordon and Enoch’s favorite! Fluffy, ultra-crispy skin and cooked to absolute perfection.
🍓 The Desserts: The strawberry sorbet and crème brûlée tart were exceptional, and the croustillant chocolate mousse with ice cream was wonderfully rich. Capped off perfectly with house-made mignardise chocolates and mango jellies!
✨ Hospitality to the Gold Standard: The ambiance is chic and elegant, but the proactive service is what truly sets them apart. Tables were kept pristine, crumbs were scraped between courses, and new utensils appeared instantly.
