The makings of a plaster staircase. I worked closely with my builders and subs to get the curves, angles and details of this dramatic staircase just right. It required curved steel trusses, stair treads that traversed the globe and back, and Dan-the-stair-man’s unwavering patience creating the perfect radius in the wood banister. Now, it’s one of my favorite architectural details in this house.

Bits of May from my iPhone. Although it’s Maycember and there’s little sleep to be had, I love the hustle and the energy of it all - longer, warmer spring days, project check-ins, creative hours, lacrosse and baseball games, choir concerts, graduation events, school presentations, etc. Living in the moment but looking forward to slower summer days ahead!

Florals for spring? Groundbreaking.

This is my oldest daughter’s room, and she had opinions. The wallpaper is Iksel, inspired by her favorite hotel in Paris. It’s where she studies, reads, practices guitar, and FaceTimes her friends for hours. The room had to be beautiful and actually livable for a teenage girl. She hasn’t complained once….at least about the room.

Traditional theater seating just isn’t my thing, so for our space I I went with a custom sectional that hugs the room instead. It’s big enough for a movie night crowd and deep enough to double as a twin bed for all the sleepovers that end up happening here. Finished off with dark, earthy plaster, an antique tapestry I found in Paris, and vintage Charlotte Perriand sconces to keep it feeling warm and cozy.

Tyrrell Winston’s “Air Hits Different a Mile High” felt like the natural starting point for my son’s room. When it’s your own kid, the design becomes instinctive - you lean into what they love. For him, that meant creating a space that feels equal parts collected, comfortable, and centered around sports.

Most mountain homes skip the separate family room, but I wanted that distinction between formal and casual. This space off the kitchen is where we actually live—kids at the island doing homework, someone watching a game, all of us gravitating toward the same room.

It’s not huge, but it’s exactly right: a sofa big enough for everyone, a fireplace for heat and ambiance, and that closeness to the kitchen chaos. Morning coffee in the shearling chair watching the sunrise. Post-ski sprawls on the floor by the fire. Layered textures, constant warmth.
