Well, that was something.

Yesterday at Clover was one of those days I thought I knew what to expect- but really had no idea. So many people stopped by, so many conversations, so many dogs to pet and a tiny kitten to hold ( little clover )!

I’m still a little in awe. Honestly, kid myself because I have such an eclectic style . It’s fun to discover there are other people out there who appreciate a little strange.

Thank you to everyone who stopped, bought a candle, or just came over to see what I was selling.

And a big thank you to Clover Market for putting together such a wonderful day. I had the best time.

The corn, apparently, was very popular.

Camp House.

Our grandparents had a little house on the bay in Milton, Florida - the camp house

My grandmother, Tappie, would make what she called a “camp house breakfast.” It was something we always looked forward to. A big Southern breakfast. Grits, bacon, biscuits, coffee. The whole house smelled like breakfast, and it stayed that way for hours. I can still remember it.

Hurricane Ivan destroyed the house in 2004.

So it seems fitting that yesterday was Tappie’s heavenly birthday, and hurricane Isaias made landfall ( now moving through) in the same part of Florida. So I’ve been thinking about the camp house quite a bit.

Camp House is my little tribute to her. To that house, those breakfasts, and a place that is still there in memories.

It was quite a weekend at Unionville Community Fair . Prized produce in the barn and beeswax in the tent. Thank you to everyone who picked up a vertebrae, corn, or loaf smiling. Thanks for having us.
