Candle Safety 101
Before each new burn, it’s important to trim your wick to 1/4” prior to lighting your candle.

In addition to being a safe candle practice, trimming your wick extends the life of your candle and also helps limit soot. Regardless of how clean your candle is created, a lit candle wick is still burning. A shorter wick can help reduce smoke and soot, create a more clean and even burn, reduce the risk of flame hazard and thus increase the lifespan of your candle.
If you don’t have a wick trimmer, a household scissors will also do - but we highly recommend investing in a good wick trimmer.
