Douglas Dolezal Interior Design is based in Sonoma County California.

As an Interior Designer, Douglas Dolezal has had the privilege of transforming homes and creating beautiful spaces for clients since 1992. Working with some of the best architects and tradespeople in the industry his natural eye for scale and talent for the use of color

enables him to transform homeowners’ visions into personal, functional and beautiful rooms. Key to his process is developing a collaborative relationship between architecture and furniture, function and form, client and designer.

It’s important to me that any changes to the exterior architecture of a building during a renovation are seamless so the changes look like they are original . On our property this charming old building received an update with a brick foundation, metal roof, cupola , new windows and brick entry. We left the original redwood siding in place. .dolezal

This cozy cottage dining room is just the right spot for a rainy day. The chairs are vintage and I covered them in a Cowtan & Tout animal print linen- all the warm pine wood works together. .dolezal

A nice soft color palette never fails in a bedroom. I added the coffered ceiling as the room needed to architectural detail. And as a rule in bedrooms, I love a layer of sheers behind the drapery, privacy when you need with pretty diffused light. .dolezal

I wanted the entry of our house to be inviting as soon as you stepped through the door. The wallpaper by Cole & Sons helped do just that. I have had that huge black and white image of a steer for years and it fit perfectly in the space. .dolezal

For this ladies study I had to channel my inner Parisian designer. I loved all the moldings we added and that classic wintergreen color. The fireplace was inspired by a mantle I saw while in London. It is such a comfortable room. .dolezal

For some spaces the right piece just shows itself. For this long hallway I needed a console or cabinet that had great scale. While in a shop in LA( way in the back) there is was, a 10 foot long cabinet. The dealer had it for years as everyone found too big. Lucky me. From there it was just selecting some sconces and a tapestry. .dolezal

I love to work with unique architecture and the turret area in this Victorian great room just needed the right energy- the Dakota Jackson swivel chairs in chartreuse leather does just that. The custom light fixture is an incredible piece from Bourgeois Boheme Atelier. .dolezal
