🤎 Happy Juneteenth 🤎

Today we honor Juneteenth, the day freedom finally reached the last enslaved African Americans in Texas on June 19, 1865.

As we celebrate, I find myself thinking about the stories, traditions, creativity, and resilience that have carried us forward across generations.

Black Dolls Matter® began with a simple belief: that our children deserve to see themselves reflected with dignity, beauty, and possibility. In many ways, that work is part of a larger story—one of remembering who we are, honoring those who came before us, and building for those who will come after us.

Today, may we celebrate freedom, community, family, culture, and the joy that sustains us.

What does Juneteenth mean to you and your family?

Our Story. Our Future.

We were. We are. We will be.

🤎 Happy Juneteenth 🤎✊🏾

Hello Family,

We've been quietly building something new, and we're excited to begin welcoming members of the Black Dolls Matter® Club, friends, and family into the Asé Community.

The Asé Community is a dedicated space beyond social media where we can connect through storytelling, creativity, culture, dolls, art, and shared experiences. It is a place to gather, learn, share, and grow together.

While we're still adding features and shaping the experience, we're ready to open the doors and invite you inside.

If you'd like to join us, create your free account and explore what we're building together:

https://blackdollsmatter.com/community/

We're still building and refining the space, and your participation and feedback will help shape what comes next.

Thank you for being part of the Black Dolls Matter® family. We look forward to welcoming you to Asé.

With gratitude,

What if we had sustained Shindana Toys?

Founded after the Watts uprising, Shindana created Black dolls with dignity when representation was rare. But representation without ownership is fragile.

What could happen if we intentionally sustained what we build now?

Shindana Toys was a Black-owned toy company that revolutionized representation with ethnically correct dolls. What if we had kept supporting it?
