Another trip around the sun. And honestly? This one felt like it counted.

I’m so grateful for the team behind MPD who shows up every single day with talent and care, for the trade partners who make our vision possible, and for the clients who trust us with the spaces where their lives actually happen. You are why this work matters.

The projects on our boards right now have me genuinely excited for what’s ahead. Interior design is a wild business. No two projects, no two clients, no two days are ever the same. It keeps you humble, it keeps you growing, and if you’re lucky, it keeps you doing what you love.

I’m the lucky one.

A lot of beautiful paneled rooms have wood that's either not in great shape or just dated… even when the moldings and detail work are stunning. Our take is to paint it! It honors the architecture, preserves the craftsmanship, and gives the room a completely new life. 

In this library, the original wood was rich in detail but totally outdated. A den you'd retreat into, not a room you'd want to spend time in. A soft blue violet completely changed the energy and feel ✨

There’s something about soft, sun warmed color this time of year, it’s welcoming and full of life without ever feeling loud. Mint grasscloth grounds the space in something quiet and architectural, while chartreuse on the banquette, in the swivel chairs, and woven into the art gives this room its pulse 🩵

At MPD, color is a structural decision, made early and made on purpose. In the bar area, a channel-tufted chartreuse banquette anchors a fluted pedestal cocktail  table, flanked by custom made swivel chairs to relax in. On the other side of the room, we softened the palette… curved bouclé sofas for the living room, faceted white side tables, and soft but graphic wood veneer wallcoverings, and let the chartreuse shine in just one place: the abstract art above the sofa. 

The result is a home that’s color forward, considered, and built for the family who lives in it ✨

We’ve been having a lot of fun expanding into the Florida marketplace lately, and we love having the conversation about what it means to have a tropical versus a coastal design 🌸

Coastal leans softer, breezy and airy. Tropical leans denser, sultry, more saturated… maybe a little more drama. When it comes to wallpaper, it’s all about the client. You’ll see in our Vero Beach home, we leaned into the fifth wall and put the wallpaper on the ceiling. A full moment of wow! In Ocean City, we kept the coastal neutral look and added a bold graphic wallpaper for some fun & absolutely adored how it turned out.

Fresh off , the one thing kept showing up across fabrics, drapery, wallpapers, and furniture was a return to layered, draped silhouettes with a sense of history.

It’s nostalgic without feeling dated. Theatrical without feeling costume-y. The kind of detail that gives a room mood and character… like you’re walking into the opera, not just a living room 🎭

And the colors are so sultry and moody, we’re just loving it. Already pulling pieces for upcoming projects!

This photo was taken in 2015, and these three are still the reason behind everything I do. I truly love what I do and the opportunity to bring beauty into my clients’ homes, but nothing has been more rewarding, humbling, exhausting, beautiful, and meaningful than being a mom.

There are seasons that test you, moments that fill your heart beyond words, and plenty of times you wonder if you’re getting it right. But somehow, through all the chaos, worry, laughter, pride, and unconditional love, it becomes the greatest privilege of your life.
I’m so grateful to have these three incredible humans in mine.

To all the moms out there… it’s not always easy, but it is so incredibly worth it. Happy Mother’s Day! Hold the moments close because the years truly do fly by. 🤍
