Is windshield replacement really free in Arizona?

Not always.

In this video, Bob from Best Glass explains one of the biggest misconceptions he’s encountered in more than 35 years helping Arizona drivers with windshield insurance claims.

Whether your insurance covers the full cost can depend on your specific policy, including your comprehensive deductible and whether you have zero-deductible glass coverage.

And with today's vehicles, there may be other questions to ask:

Will insurance cover OEM glass?
Does your vehicle require ADAS calibration?
Will your policy cover that calibration?
What, if anything, will you owe out of pocket?
Don't assume your windshield is free—and don't assume it isn't covered.

At Best Glass, we can help you understand your coverage and navigate the insurance claim process before your windshield is replaced.

Do you have to use the windshield company your insurance recommends?

In Arizona, generally, no.

Arizona law says that, unless otherwise prescribed by your insurance contract, you have the right to choose the glass repair facility that works on your vehicle.

That matters because today's windshield replacement can involve much more than simply installing a piece of glass. OEM vs. aftermarket glass, cameras, ADAS calibration, proper installation and the company's warranty can all be important.

Bob's advice after more than 35 years in the glass business:

Your insurance company handles the claim. Your glass company handles your vehicle.

Make sure you're comfortable with both.

Is windshield replacement really free in Arizona?

Not always.

After more than 35 years helping Arizona drivers with windshield claims, Bob says this is one of the biggest misunderstandings he sees.

Whether insurance pays for your windshield replacement—and whether you have anything to pay out of pocket—depends on your specific policy.

In our latest blog, Bob explains:

The difference between comprehensive and zero-deductible glass coverage
Why some Arizona drivers still have a deductible
Whether insurance will pay for OEM glass
How ADAS calibration is handled
What to ask before authorizing a replacement
Don't assume you're covered—or that you're not. Know what your policy covers first.

Should I Use My Insurance for Windshield Repair?

You get a chip in your windshield. Should your first call automatically be to your insurance company?

Not necessarily.

In this video, Bob from Best Glass shares what he’s learned after more than 35 years in the auto glass business—and why it’s worth understanding your options before filing a windshield claim.

Before you decide, ask:

Can the windshield still be repaired?
What will the repair cost?
What is your deductible?
What glass coverage do you have?
Does filing a claim make sense for your situation?
Here in Arizona, acting quickly is especially important. Extreme heat can help turn a small chip into a much larger crack—and a simple repair into a complete windshield replacement.

That’s also why every Best Glass windshield replacement includes FREE chip repairs for one full year. We’d rather repair your next chip for free than see it become another replacement—and potentially another insurance claim.

Know what your windshield needs. Know your coverage. Then decide.

Should you use insurance for a windshield repair?

The answer isn't always yes.

Before filing a claim, it may be worth considering the cost of the repair, your deductible, your glass coverage and whether the windshield can simply be repaired before the damage spreads.

After more than 35 years in the auto glass business, Bob has helped thousands of Arizona drivers make these decisions.

In our latest blog, he shares what you should consider before filing a windshield claim—and why sometimes paying for a small repair yourself may make more sense.

And remember: Every Best Glass windshield replacement includes FREE chip repairs for one full year, which may help you catch the next chip before it turns into another replacement—or another insurance claim.

The Question Every Arizona Driver Should Ask About Cash-Back Windshield Offers

$200… $300… or even more in cash just for replacing your windshield?

Sounds like a great deal. But there’s one question every Arizona driver should ask:

Where does that money come from?

In this video, Bob from Best Glass shares what he’s learned after more than 35 years in the glass business—and the questions you should ask before choosing a windshield replacement company based on a cash giveaway.

You’ll learn why it’s important to ask:

• Are they licensed and insured?
• Do they use their own technicians?
• Do they use OEM glass when appropriate?
• Are they approved by your insurance company?
• Do they meet AGRSS safety standards?
• Are they asking you to sign an Assignment of Benefits?
• Do they offer a real warranty?
• Will they still be there if you need help later?

At Best Glass, we don’t overbill insurance, we don’t use subcontractors, we perform proper ADAS calibration when required, and we stand behind our installations with a lifetime workmanship warranty.

Plus, every windshield replacement includes FREE chip repairs for one full year—because we’d rather help you repair a small chip than see it become another windshield replacement.

Before you accept the cash, ask the questions.
