It has been a while since I have posted anything here on Facebook. As most of you have seen, I had to close my studio. I have been on a 6-year journey, furthering my education and at the one-year anniversary of my business, I had to make a decision. Would I keep the doors open or would I close them? For the past year and a half, I have juggled my graduate studies, cared for a Pop with dementia, and tried to run a successful business. It has been a difficult journey, and most days I was going 9 ways to Sunday.
I had to make some hard decisions to NOT waiver in my faith and convictions. I know that this caused me to lose business and even prompt people to speak ill of me. In retrospect, I wouldn't have changed a thing. I don't regret NOT doing paint and sip nights. I don't regret telling parents NOT to curse in my studio. Some students didn't like me playing Christian music, but others loved it.
Through it all, I have learned that God sets the standards, not me. He gave me the business and sustained it for a year. For that, I am thankful. I am also thankful for all of your love and support.
So, this page will continue to stay up. My Happy Place... A Creation Studio is now in my home. It is where I create. It is in your home, where you and your children create.
My hope is that you will continue to post on here what you and your children create and we can support each other in our creative efforts as we walk through life.
My goal for the studio was always to create community and support those who walked through its doors in any way I was able.
I have started a blog for anyone who would like to follow. You can find me at https://myhappyplacecreation.blogspot.com/
I hope you are all doing well and have had an amazing New Year so far! God bless and thank you!
Learning together about our creative processes and how we can overcome challenges when we get stuck.
