They said that Gulfport Community Players 2023 One Acts was the best in the company's history, and I think they may be right - it was great! But the 2024 One Acts are AMAZING and FUNNY and TOUCHING, virtually every one well written and acted. There's the story of our first date, which Vic wrote for me and Rosemary; I never ever thought it would see the light of day and brought tears to my eyes last night. SO many great actors, I don't want to name a few for sake of omitting someone and hurting their feelings. Cast, you are OUTSTANING! Several of you took a play that was so-so on its face value, put it on your tiny shoulders and made those plays something! It was a fantastic evening of great and good playwriting, exceptional acting from a cast, some of whom had never trod the boards before, and the blood, sweat and tears of directors who volunteered to whip everything into a professsional evening. GO SEE GULFPORT'S ONE ACTS FESTIVAL! I'm going again next weekend. Hope to see you there! (Hi, Josh, my theater actor/psychotherapist actor bud whom I only get to see once a year!)
