The October Fleece Release is here, and things are getting a little shear-y!

We’ve conjured up 18 new fleeces for your perusal, and rare breeds are stealing the show this month. From the Shave ‘Em to Save ‘Em qualified CVM to Florida Cracker, Karakul, and Tunis, there are plenty of treats to discover. We’ve even got a Racka in the mix, marking only our second offering of this particular breed. Talk about a rare treat!

No tricks here, just plenty of woolly treats!

Good morning from the barns at New York Sheep and Wool Festival in Rhinebeck, New York! Today is the final day of the festival - there’s so much to do and see before it closes at 4PM. You can find us in Building C, just across the aisle from our friends at Fiber Optic Yarns!

Hello from Rhinebeck, New York! Fall is in the air, the leaves are changing, and we’re ready for a weekend full of fiber and friends at the New York Sheep & Wool Festival!

Today, we took some time to enjoy the area with a visit to the Walkway Over the Hudson, some classic diner food, a bit of fall leaf peeping, and sweater weather. Not a bad way to kick off our Rhinebeck trip!

Over the next four days, we’ll be teaching, vending, catching up with old friends, and making new ones. Ashley and Brenna are joining us this year, too, and we’re excited to have them along for the adventure!

If you’re at the festival, come say hello! You’ll find us in Building C, just to the left as you walk through the door. We can’t wait to see you!

Want to turn loose fiber into beautiful, spin-ready rolags?

The blending board is the ultimate woolen prep tool! Learn basic use and techniques from one of its designers in our Blending Board Basics class. We’ll explore how to blend fibers of different types, lengths, and colors while learning how to quickly prepare fiber into rolags for woolen spinning.

Whether you’re new to blending boards or looking to get more out of yours, this hands-on class will give you practical techniques you can take home and use in your own fiber projects. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to experiment, ask questions, and practice with a Clemes & Clemes Blending Board. All materials, boards, and tools are provided!

We’re on our way!

We had a great time at Lambtown Festival, now we drive the 2,932 miles across the country to Rhinebeck, New York, for New York Sheep & Wool. As soon as things wrap up in Rhinebeck, we scoot down the Atlantic Coast before turning inland for a 788 mile trek to Fletcher, North Carolina, and SAFF.

After that, it’s 2,604 miles home for the winter, where we’ll be catching up on back orders and installing new machinery to make us more efficient in the shop over the next few months.
