We are currently in transition and that is why I haven’t been very active on Instagram. We sold our last home in Oldfield back in September after a couple requested to purchase. We are now patiently waiting to see where we end up exactly. The real estate market isn’t exactly fun at the moment, real estate inventory is significantly low, and I am incredibly picky. My husband is wrapping up his military career, he retires early summer of 2024, and we are most likely headed back to North Carolina immediately following.
When I started my little design business here, I honestly thought we’d be here forever, but things have changed since then. I’ve realized that family will always be most important and moving back to North Carolina will put us closer to all of our family. Our son was diagnosed with epilepsy just last year, and we greatly prefer the healthcare back in North Carolina…though MUSC has been incredible. The schools in Beaufort County have not impressed us very much at all…in fact, I understand now why South Carolina ranks 42nd in public education. Beaufort County, SC is indeed an incredible place to visit…but, for me personally, it also lacks enough great shopping and enough great food. There is also a significant shortage of true craftsmen here.
There is no utopia and I’m certainly not in search of it…but we have decided that North Carolina is most likely the best fit for us over the next 10 years or so.
Until I can fall back in love with another area, I will not be able to put forth my best work.
The above picture is of home back in North Carolina. ❤️ If you are itching to move, just remember that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.
