Throw back to a rebuild I completed in 2023. This was a hard hit to my ego, which is why it took me a bit to post it. (The last two pictures are the original bench, and after I took out some frustration on it 😂) I personally feel the second base looks better and would have built it this way originally, but I was trying to stay within a limited budget. I didn't realize there was an issue with strength until the bench was completed, so I advised the client of what I feared would happen. Once I received the call that a leg was broken, I dropped everything and picked up the bench from the client. I spent the next week completely rebuilding the base from scratch while fixing all the structural issues. Obviously, at no cost to my customer. I felt horrible about this and was just happy nobody was injured. I usually always over engineer my builds, but this mid century modern design was tough, considering it is minimalistic. I really wasn't going to post this, but I feel that my clients should know that custom designing and building furniture has some trial and error to it. I want my customers to know that if there is ever an issue, I will do everything in my power to fix that issue as fast as possible. Thank you to all my clients for your trust in me and for allowing me to build one-off custom builds that WILL last a lifetime, if not more.
