I never understood why the “old people” only drank their coffee from the same mug especially when they had a cabinet full of mugs/cups…well I guess I’m old because this mug has been going strong since the day I bought it from ERICKA INKS

Besides praying-it’s the only consistent message I take with me everyday. A reminder that it’s up to me to stay healthy & keep “my” peace.

This car/Sq. Hill Tunnel fire has proved to be a bit more of a pain in the butt than expected.
My attention has been taken away from the new Shop while I navigate this.
With that said….please, please be patient with me🙏
I am not ignoring anyone & each & every email, DM & text will be responded to as soon as I wrap my head around all the pieces to this puzzle.
Still opening, still requesting consignment (lamps, small-er furniture, art, etc), still looking for local vendors…nothing has changed just need to switch gears & pivot a bit.

So, again please be patient & please feel free to say prayers for restoration, send hugs, positive energy…all the good & uplifting stuff!

Hoping to loosen the grip of this insane experience shortly & start resuming the next chapter which I really am super excited about!!!

Please be kind, spread love & shine your light onto the world…we all need a little extra right about now & no matter how rough it feels….the light will always outshine the darkness-promise🙏

Trying to stay away from “sappy, personal posts” but my heart is heavy & I felt the need to remind everyone….
Your days are not promised!

I had the best day lunching with my customer turned client turned friend, in fact it ran way overtime which was the specialness of it!
I always say if there’s a delay, it was an angel protecting you.
This time…no delay in fact all was going smooth until what began as a “slow down” in the tunnel then turned into people screaming “RUN”!!! When, I saw Mamas grabbing their children & running as fast they could-I realized I needed to make a quick decision to abandon my vehicle & “run” for it. Adrenaline hit & I forgot I’m recovering from a fractured back. I was appx 5/6 cars behind the accident. I was almost through the tunnel (Edgewood) & had to run all the way back to the Sq. Hill side.

What started as a small bit of smoke terrifyingly turned into this type of plume of smoke in a matter of minutes. So many of us got out just when this giant, scary as hell smoke bomb came gushing out of the tunnel. So many kiddos & young people, petrified.
I became a Mama to whomever needed it & quite frankly it’s the only way I kept my s**t together!

Listen….this world is a s**tshow to begin with & then stuff like this happens. I’ve always heard “count your blessings” & I do..everyday-however today it holds a new meaning.
How many people leave their house in the am, have a great day but never make it home?
I felt that yesterday.

Every moment you are ok…give thanks because I assure you after something like this…you understand time is precious😔

I thank God from the bottom of my heart for keeping all of us safe!
God is good & I am beyond grateful 🙏

If you have an appointment at the Shop today, my dear sweet friend Jenn will be there to meet you.

Struggling a lil bit with some smoke inhalation & need to get the “fire bomb smell” of a car detailed inside & outside.

Please, be kind-we all need each other & trust me when you are in a situation like this…there is no color, no religion, no undocumented/citizen! Just humans relying on each other to survive!

One thing I’ve learned during my “hiatus” is self care & recognizing my needs before it “breaks me”.

Not gonna lie…starting a new biz & everything that is happening on any given day in the world is a struggle.

My soul needed water & I needed a peaceful place to pray…so I got up early & headed to my favorite soul filling & calming place close to home…The Highland Park Reservoir.
Just me sitting alone, the ducks, the strangers who become more like neighbors with each lap they take, the love from all the pups, the fog lifting & the water gently moving were just the reminders I needed…this is my grounding…this is where I feel peace.

So with that said…I’m taking the day off. I will get back to folks over the weekend.
And for those whom were willing to switch their schedule around to accommodate my much needed self care day…
I thank you for your grace🙏

Peace & care to all.

PS-let’s normalize being vulnerable because we’re not made to carry “all of this”……
hell if we can’t be real because we’re concerned what others will think then what the hell are we even doing🤷‍♀️
