Sorry to all my faithful followers, I knew I had promised you some new listings last time I posted but have been sidelined with some personal issues but one I feel I should share and perhaps warn others from my current headache. So..here's the situation, personally speaking I am a 44yr old married woman on my second and last marriage to a wonderful man named Leonard. Leonard's past was a situation of once owning a prominent restaurant and then was faced with let's see..he broke his back and was declared a paraplegic..18 months later he miraculously started to regain feeling in his legs and today is free of an walking assistance however his back does have severe arthritis..bare with me, I have a point to all this, so broken back, three heart attacks, two triple bypass surgeries, suffered an allergy from a prescribed medicine that put him into renal failure. (it's actually called Steven's Johnson Syndrome). He's managed to some how come back from that as well and has normal kidney function though the symptoms do persist. My story is not as dramatic but to cut it short I've been at deaths door, twice, both times due to complications from gastric bypass surgery I had many years ago, once saved by my daughters cool head under emergencies and the other because my husband knew that I had more than just indigestion. First death door, I was filleted like a fish, I have a scar from just under my breast bone down to the pelvis and then continues on hip to hip, imagine an autopsy and that was me. I had an infection festering into my body cavity that "made it impossible to identify my organs without removing and washing everything down to as sterile as they could possibly do (micro-perferations caused by the dr. not disclosing that a mesh patch was used due to complications and furthermore was done upside down" which basically caused me to throw up almost any time I ate). I then of course domino'ed into massive malnutrition, massive anemia requiring infusion therapy, 4 hours each time..blah blah blah. So why haven't I listed? Well the long and short of it is I have medical assistance through medi-cal, or should I say I use to. All the items on my site are my or Leonards items from years of his collecting teddy bears to pocket watches...a vast variety of items...me, watches, comic watches, my kids, video games and all the other things that go along with it. All of this is at my wonderful mother and fathers help with our finances. But as they grow older I try to thin out our needs and as well started selling things from my kids collections (they parlay into newer games or new systems). Well because I tried to take some of the pressure off my parents and started selling off our stuff on eBay the county is trying to declare it as an income that I need to report to the IRS and the County. No notice as is required by the law, just an investigator that showed up at my house one morning a couple weeks ago. So my and Leonards response was that which we were told from my worker at the time, reporting that wasn't necessary because it wasn't enough to deny benefits. I've never hid the fact that I created a page, but now I'm told that I'm being investigated for fraud which can apparently send me to jail for 20 yrs and or fines of $250,000.00. So I ask you if you have read this post, if I had a garage sale every day would I have to charge you the buyer sales tax? I paid tax on items when I bought them. eBay is nothing more than a platform for the little guy like me trying to make an honest buck off my hoarding and my husbands hoarding of households. Paypal reports your sales under a 1099 but why? I've paid the tax on it once, because I sell it I'm now a tax collector for the state? Come on people...do you think people at flea markets charge sales tax? Report the income on the crap they sell? It's their crap, they can do what they want with it....but not according to the state. FYI if you get any assistance be careful but most important don't do a damn thing to help make your lives easier by thinning out stuff you may find yourself in the same situation as myself. None the less because I feel strongly that my kids giving me things to sell and me putting up tons of our old stuff we rake out of storage is not illegal and since I don't do it daily mind you does not qualify as a business more so a hobby of sorts. It gave me a way to start my comic collections but still not a business. No business license, no business account, no show room, no tax ID. Sure eBay makes it look that way for you if you qualify because you pay a fee. A fee for a platform to my sales of personal items. But a fee is paid so it looks nice, it's pleasing to your eye, you see the item from different angles but most important your service feedback from people who have bought your stuff. Just please know that you should take care if you ever have a garage sale, virtual or thus otherwise, you never know who is buying your items and if they are really there to look or try and dig where there is nothing to find!!!!! Argh sorry for the rant folks but my integrity is important and basically the state is saying I'm a liar and a cheat...are you f...king kidding me???? REALLY????
