Back when I wrote how to create the absolutely best soap recipe ever, I had no idea the post would become so popular. My biggest piece of advice in that article, however, is to learn your fatty acid profiles and that seemed to stump a lot of folks.

As my dad would say, "Well I would be darned! Look at that!"
I was scrolling through FB and came across one of the answers I have been praying over. Imagine that! God answering prayers? No way! Absolutely He does!

Well, that FB post had my curiosity peaked about my experiment. I saw a towel and tested it. The unscented one worked phenomenally. The scented one surprisingly did not. BUT, I was not downtrodden about it. Because loving science the way I do, I realize it may not work well for that but may for something else. WOW! I was blown away! I tried it on the drip pan on my stove top and then the window on my oven. It got a good chunk off with a wet paper towel and my experiment scented bar.

I am a tad ok more than a tad embarrassed about how bad the drip pan was, so no pictures for now. I want to make more of these beauties before I reveal more about them.

As I was packaging some of my soaps, I attempred something. My friend told me there are needle point pens that would work better than the chalk pen and then white paint. Lol. Since we were going to Lubbock for an impromptu dr appointment, he suggested we go to Hobby Lobby afterwards. They moved the bathrooms so on the way back to the pen section I was able to help a sweet lady that needed something to write bold enough for her to see but writes easily. She was trying to use artist graphic pencils. I explained the differences in the pencils and then suggested the gel pens from Walmart. :) We went in for the pens but I came out helping others, buying half off business supplies (something I have been praying over) and snapped some pictures for future rederence of ideas.

I found wrapping all those gifts for my kids all these years was building experience in wrapping my soaps. Lol. I also discovered it is true, even though the soaps come from the same batch and mold, they can cure (aka shrink) at different rates. I guess our personalities are kind of like these soaps. Made from the same stuff, come from they same place, has a purpose and yet can be doing it's own thing.

Perhaps it is a good thing I have not won a mega millions lottery yet.... I found a website that I have about $1,700 of patterns in my cart. If you are interested in quilting I recommend this site. It has several adorable and beautiful quilts. I have not bought from them yet, so I do not know how well their products and customer service are yet.

My own laundry detergent. I looked up the soap base ingredients out of curiosity and discovered it had some surprising ingredients.

The difference between store bought rendered tallow vs my rendered tallow. Can you take a guess which still has a beefy smell to it?
I will be rendering the pricey store bought tallow soon. Not looking forward to the smell while rendering tallow but atleast I'll know it's cleaner.
