September is here and although it’s still nearly 90F outside here in north Texas, at least it’s not 100F! I had fun preparing a palette of lace and tulle eye candy that speaks fall to me - I can dream. I’m entitling it Cinnabar because it reminds me of Indian curries and fragrant fall spices. All of these lovelies and more can be found at TheLacyBustress.com or at my Etsy shop of the same name. May you all have many creative fall lingerie dreams in the works.

March makes me dream of purple hyacinths and their amazing scent. I did in fact try forcing some bulbs indoors and just got mediocre results. These blooms I bought to soothe my sorrows! I think perhaps I’ll stick with sewing hyacinth inspired lingerie instead. I used Orange Lingerie’s patterns here, but decided to alter the Fenway’s tailored style by adding a ruffle insert between the upper cup and the lower split cup. I also nixed the fold over elastic because I was aiming more for girly and less for tailored. It shows you how versatile a good basic design can be. Hope your gardens are all popping with daffodils, tulips and of course hyacinths! Sandy 🌷🧚💕

So while this is not lingerie sewing, leather work is my second passion. I own a leather sewing machine and a skiver which are a must for working with 3 mm and up hand Ad leathers. I decided to construct my own Birkin bag and have to say that I understand why they come at such a high price tag. The supplies alone for this bag were $500 and that’s not using Hermes Togo or Epsom etc. it is a complicated bag and the white stitching on black leather has to be perfect. I have a lot of respect for Hermes after this DIY experiment. I do plan on carrying these leather skills into designing some bustiers. Stay tuned. ❤️Sandy

So I wanted to design a mug that I could use to drink my coffee with (I’m half Colombian after all so I need it to survive the day 🤪) while sewing lingerie - my two favorite pastimes. Add to that my love of Valentine’s Day 🥰💝and retro illustration and this is the result. The back side has a sentiment I penned that I try to live by day-to-day “Love is Like Lingerie, Never Let it Wear Out”. Choosing to love the people around us and even ourselves takes regular attention. Sometimes it doesn’t come EZ, but if we all just work at it just a little in our own sphere of influence just think how much more beautiful a world this could be. I have this latte mug and a straight sided version for sale in my Etsy shop. I plan to add to this collection of lingerie inspired goodies in the coming months. I love to be surrounded by all kinds of lingerie inspiration. Let me know if you like it and what your favorite drinkie is while you sew! 🥂☕️🧋🧉Sandy 😘

Hi Luvies! This is my Have a Very Merry Christmas 🎄🎁 babydoll set of stretch panné velvet and black stretch lace. I self drafted this set, but you could easily start with something like Butterick 5181 View C/D and adapt it for lingerie using stretch lace for the midriff. No zip needed-yay! I just want to motivate you guys to look at your pattern stash with your lingerie maker’s eyes. So many tops and dresses 👗 patterns you already have in your stash feature great style lines that can be reinterpreted for lingerie and multi-purposed in stretch lace, satins, velvets, etc. Holiday hugs to all you beautiful makers!

Hi Guys, I recently opened up an Etsy store and I have my beloved Burda collection listed to sell. It is the European version in English. I have simply run out of room in my small work studio to store them. 🥲The mags are in terrific shape and are packed with fabulous patterns. Burda is so fashion forward that even the back issues have designs that are completely on-trend. The older issues in particular feature 40 + designs whereas in recent years they sadly trimmed down the free patterns to only around 20. How many of you were sad about that? I’ve included the schematic page of all the free designs in each issue plus the max number of photos Etsy allowed. I know many of you very talented lingerie sewists, sew 🧵a myriad of other garment types, so enjoy browsing through the issues and give one or two a good home. Sandy💕😊

I decided to go crazy with this beautiful purple and black stretch lace. I made a number of mix and match pieces with it. I made a baby doll PJ set using the Watson bra as a basis for the bra top but turned the under band into a looser to the hip line. Then I self drafted some shorties for it. I added a Watson bra, a Berkeley bra and a couple of panty styles to complete the set. In addition to the lace I chose I incorporated black stretch panne velvet and some black spandex. Check out these great patterns below and follow along with me on my sewing pretties journey 😍
