I'm Tara Lenney, a Registered Interior Designer in the great state of Texas, with 12 years of design experience (and counting). I feel strongly that great design should not be reserved for the ultra-rich. I would love to work with you and help to uncover your style and create something amazing. It’s one very important piece in the puzzle of how to live your best life, and I’m blessed to get to help so many folks with that.

Featured in The Dallas Morning News DMN Abode this home is proof that a beautiful house still needs to feel like yours.Our clients moved into a house nearly twice the size of their last, with gorgeous bones a previous owner had already renovated well (huge windows, herringbone floors, beams, the works) and none of it said them yet. So we did what we do: furnished nearly every room from scratch, leaned into richer, moodier, more grounded colors to match their style instead of the house's old one, added a few built-ins where the space actually needed them, and gave a genuinely beautiful house a personality that finally belongs to the people living in it. We are calling this one done, and we are so proud of how it turned out.

Space planning doesn't get its flowers enough. It's the invisible work, the reason a room feels obvious once it's done, even though nothing about getting there was obvious. That's the whole story of Caledonia. The outdoor space was sweet but sat completely unused: no cover, and the Texas sun does not play fair. Meanwhile, the kitchen needed more room to actually function.

So we solved both at once. We pulled 100 square feet from the patio to build out a real kitchen and dining area, then turned what was left into an outdoor room that finally earns its keep: a pergola with fans, heaters, and speakers, a wood-slatted cover that throws the prettiest light patterns, and an L-shaped outdoor kitchen with an accordion window that opens the whole thing up. This is the part of full-service design nobody sees: figuring out how a house should actually work, before we ever pick a single finish. Swipe through to see how it came together!

I'm freshly back from the Hampton women's retreat: 20+ female founders, four days in upstate New York, all there to go deeper, build relationships, and restore ourselves a little. I have about eleven million insights from this trip and will probably write eight newsletters about it. I went in thinking I'd work on a few specific things. What actually surfaced (fortunately or unfortunately) was a whole other set of issues I super did not want to address but very much needed to: people pleasing and confidence. Which, of course, are tied together. The workshops and the women in that room helped me work through it in ways I didn't expect.

And it all ended in an impromptu fashion show, with the CEO of a fashion house teaching a room full of founders how to walk a runway. If that had been on the agenda, I would have bailed for sure. Four days earlier, most of us probably would have been too self-conscious to try it. But we strutted. There was music, there were cocktails, and every woman in that room was rooting for you from inside her soul. It was amazing.

Here's what that actually looks like on our end: we help you discover your style and set the direction for the whole project, build a tailor-made design solution, select every finish and furnishing, and then install and style it all so you walk into a finished space, not a project. There's nothing we enjoy more than serving our clients in all aspects of a project, from start to finish. You get your weekends back, we handle the thousand decisions in between. That's full-service, that's the job.
