Did you know that Ponca City has its own local cowboy who brought home a gold medal during the 2002 Winter Olympics Cultural Arts Festival in Salt Lake City, Utah?
While rodeo isn't an official Olympic sport, the Games featured rodeo as part of the cultural celebration, this cowboy captured the Gold Medal in Tie-Down Roping, putting his name in the history books! �

He is also an 11-time National Finals Rodeo qualifier and one of the most accomplished tie-down ropers to ever come out of Oklahoma. From the rodeo arenas of Ponca City at the 101 Wild West Rodeo to the Olympic spotlight, he has represented our western heritage with grit, determination, and cowboy pride. �

As we celebrate Rodeo Week, let's give a big YEA HAW! for one of our hometown legends! 🐎🌵⭐
