It's been quite an interesting time lately.
My hairdresser, who also cuts my mom and aunt's hair, has been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma. She requested a hat as she's losing her hair. I played around with a number of designs, but this one was unique and challenging, so I figured, why not?
A second project (cause I can never be working on just one) is my Baby Blanket for my upcoming Niece or Nephew. Since they're not finding out the gender, I wanted something gender neutral. I started with the squares from an old Moogly Afghan CAL and I believe these will make up the bulk of the blanket. I also found the lovely stained glass pattern, and I think this may be the center of the blanket. It took AGES to crochet, and I adapted it in the circle>square phase but I think it turned out cool.
Last but not least is a project I've been working on since NOVEMBER. I took a break on it for a few weeks, but I'm so close to being done! Technically, it was a Christmas present to my mother, but at this rate it'll end up being a Mother's day present ; )
We found this AMAZING wool jacket in Ireland. Since mom doesn't wear wool, I bought some soft acrylic and made a similar jacket. I have the back, both sides, and one sleeve done. All that's left is the rest of the second sleeve, stitching the sides up, and the collar. For my first large project, it's turning out great!
I hope you all have a Lovely Easter, if you celebrate. I'll be lying in bed, bemoaning the loss of my Wisdom Teeth and exercising my knitting muscles to distract me from the pain!
