Redesign with Kim Are you looking for a fresh style? Bored with your current look?Just moved in? Start redesigning today! Staging is a great marketing tool.

My zest for design comes from helping clients make their space a home either using their existing decor or mixing it up with new pieces. Sometimes you just need to pick a starting point and someone to say "Let's do it". Redesign: Many times clients need help to purge before or after a move or just need to “freshen- up” their look. And other times they realize they moved "stuff" just because it was

expensive or a gift. I specialize in helping clients make their homes comfortable, organized and beautiful places to live, work and play by using what they already have to transform their home. Home Staging: My goal in home staging is to work with existing furniture and décor, first. The first impression is key in home design, whether you are staying or selling your home. Staging brings measurable value and secures equity. Statistics show professionally staged homes sell 50% faster and average for 6 - 10% higher sales price. Color/Furniture/ Shopping/Selection: Many times clients just require a quick consultation on selecting a new paint color, décor items or piece of furniture. Decluttering/ Downsizing: Many clients relocate and realize they have moved items that are aren’t necessary or a good “design fit” in their new home. I help to decide what items best utilized in the new space, consigned or donated. Holiday Decorating: Specialized client service for any holiday is a treat. By working with existing décor and/or new pieces can jazz up any holiday celebration. Services Provided

Does your front entrance pass the "Designer Test"? 🏛️✨

Designers know that your home’s story starts at the sidewalk. It’s not just about decor; it’s about the feeling of a space. When an entrance is cluttered, poorly lit, or difficult to navigate, it creates a "mental block" for anyone stepping inside.

I’ve rounded up the top 5 front entrance features that designers agree always miss the mark. Swipe through to see if your home is accidentally sending the wrong message—and how simple design shifts can completely transform your curb appeal. 🌿👠

Peel-and-stick tiles can feel like a designer’s best-kept secret… or a shortcut that misses the mark—it all comes down to how you use them.

When styled intentionally, they’re perfect for adding character to kitchen backsplashes, fireplace surrounds, laundry rooms, or even stair risers. They give you that instant visual upgrade without the commitment—making them a go-to for renters or quick refreshes.

But here’s the truth from a design perspective: the finish is only as good as the foundation. Smooth, clean, and properly prepped surfaces make all the difference. And while they’re a great temporary solution, they won’t replace the elevated look and longevity of professionally installed tile.

It’s all about aligning your design choices with your space, your lifestyle, and your long-term vision. Thoughtful design isn’t just about what looks good today—it’s about what works beautifully over time.

✨ Thinking about refreshing your space or getting your home market-ready? Let’s create a look that feels intentional, elevated, and uniquely yours.

Your sofa sets the tone for your entire living room—so why let it quietly date your space?

As designers, we always say: comfort matters, but so does composition. The most beautiful rooms strike a balance between how they feel and how they visually live within the space.

Overly bulky recliners, heavy traditional tufting, and overly relaxed “cloud” silhouettes can all weigh a room down faster than you think. Even the most high-end version can feel out of place if the proportions and lines aren’t working in your favor.

Instead, we guide our clients toward pieces that feel intentional—clean lines, tailored silhouettes, and just the right amount of softness. Think structure with ease. Elevated, but still livable.

Because the goal isn’t just to fill a room… it’s to design one that feels current today and still beautiful years from now.

As an interior designer, I always remind homeowners that every space deserves intention—including the laundry room. While kitchens and living rooms tend to get all the design love, the laundry room is actually the perfect place to have a little fun with your style.

Think bold wallpaper, colorful cabinetry, patterned tile, or a statement light fixture that makes the space feel less like a chore zone and more like a thoughtfully designed part of your home. Add beautiful storage baskets, artwork, or even a cozy rug, and suddenly folding laundry feels a lot less mundane.

The truth is, great design isn’t just about the rooms guests see—it’s about creating spaces that make your everyday life feel better.

So if your laundry room has been sitting on the “we’ll get to it later” list… consider this your sign to give it the love it deserves. You might be surprised how a little personality can turn this hardworking space into one of your favorite spots in the home. 🏡🧺✨

The question I get asked in almost every kitchen consult: “Is stainless steel finally on its way out?” 🫢 🧊

If you’ve been eyeing those sleek surfaces but worry about jumping on a fading trend, let’s clear the air. Design preferences evolve, but stainless steel has something most "color-of-the-year" appliances don’t: Lasting Power.

Here is why it’s still my go-to recommendation for a timeless kitchen:

✨ The Ultimate Neutral: It’s the "white tee" of the kitchen. It plays well with every palette, from moody navy cabinets to warm oak textures.
✨ Mixed Metal Magic: Stainless doesn’t demand a monogamous relationship with silver. It pairs beautifully with brass hardware, matte black fixtures, or polished nickel.
✨ Pro-Level Performance: There’s a reason commercial kitchens haven’t changed their look in decades. It’s durable, hygienic, and gives your home that "chef-quality" edge.
✨ The New Evolution: From fingerprint-resistant finishes to the deeper tones of Black Stainless and the seamless look of Panel-Ready—this finish is evolving, not disappearing.

Trends like avocado green or harvest gold come and go, but stainless steel remains the anchor of a high-end, functional home. It’s not just an appliance; it’s a design staple.

Wood paneling is officially back — and this time, it’s refined, architectural, and absolutely timeless. 🤎

As an interior designer, I’m seeing a clear shift: homeowners are craving warmth, texture, and materials that feel intentional. Clean white walls had their moment, but now we’re layering spaces with walnut, smoked oak, cedar, fluted detailing, and built-in millwork that adds real depth and permanence.

This isn’t the dark, heavy paneling of the past. Today’s approach is vertical slats, half-wall treatments, integrated cabinetry, exposed beams, rich hardwood floors, and vintage-inspired lighting that brings character without overwhelming the space.

Design trends come and go — but natural wood adds soul. It grounds a room, softens modern architecture, and creates the kind of warmth that instantly makes a house feel like home.

Thinking about incorporating wood details into your space? Save this for inspiration and send me a message — let’s design a home that feels layered, warm, and truly timeless. ✨

Pocket doors are proof that great design is both beautiful and intentional. ✨

What was once considered a historic detail is now one of my favorite ways to create better flow, maximize square footage, and add architectural interest without overwhelming a space. With today’s upgraded hardware and soft-close systems, they feel refined, seamless, and elevated — not fussy.

I especially love using pocket doors in bathrooms, closets, and tucked-away workspaces where privacy matters but visual openness is key. They allow us to design spaces that feel airy and functional at the same time.

Design should work for your lifestyle — not against it. And sometimes, the smartest upgrades are the ones that quietly transform how a room feels and functions.

Would you add pocket doors to your next renovation? 👀✨
