🚨 long post alert 🚨
They say that all good things must come to an end. With that said, I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who supported my Brick-n-Motor at the Crossroads Mall, Imagine Art by Nikki Lee. Closing was one of the most difficult decisions I have made in my life. My ego played a significant role in wanting to stay open due to those who said I wouldn't or couldn't do it.
Closing truly hurts my soul, not because of failure…. but because Art truly is Therapy…
Testimony & Vunerability: I received my keys on January 5th, the day I buried my little sister and best friend. The move in date was also, one month and a half after my father passed.
I spent so many nights by myself painting and balling. So when I say this hurts…whew! With that being said I KNOW THAT opening the store with very little funds and achieving all that I have has them both in awe.
I am so very proud of myself. I learned so much about business, marketing, design on a dime, website management, and navigating life and entrepreneurship that it’s only up next time.
I am thankful for the family and friends that contributed to the establishment of store, and worked when I could not. Also, to the community and businesses that supported you rock.
My vision for Imagine Art dates back to my very first Art Hop at the Northside Association for Community Development- NACD in 2016. In 2021 my brand became a mobile business. My store being the first of its kind in The Crossroads Mall opened in March of 2024. It is not goodbye, but see you soon.
PS. You can’t rid of me completely. Your one of a kind friend, and artist will continue offering mobile services. Stay tuned as I have some other art projects brewing.
