National Knife Day is almost here.

Join us at the STEELPORT factory for the 3rd Annual National Knife Day: Knife Maker Showcase, presented by the Portland Knife Center of Excellence.

Nine Portland knife brands (Steelport Knife Co., Leatherman, Benchmade Knife Co., Inc., Ge**er Gear, Columbia River Knife and Tool, Kershaw, William Henry, The James Brand, Zero Tolerance Knives) will come together for a day celebrating the people, history, craftsmanship, and innovation behind Oregon’s knifemaking community. Meet makers and founders, watch live forging demonstrations, explore historic knives, shop Portland-made tools, and enjoy BBQ from Lil’ Barbecue and drinks from pFriem Family Brewers Family Brewers.

There will also be a founder tool signing, an Oregon State University Blacksmithing Club display, and a final chance to enter the Ultimate Portland Knifemaker Giveaway with more than $11,500 in prizes.

Join us this Saturday, June 27, from 11am–Noon at the STEELPORT factory for our monthly Chef Demo featuring Chef Isaiah Martinez of Yardy Rum Bar in Eugene.

Known for blending his Afro-Caribbean heritage with fresh Pacific Northwest ingredients, Chef Isaiah has earned national recognition, including a James Beard Award semifinalist nomination and NYT Restaurant of the Year honors.

During the demo, he’ll be putting his STEELPORT 8” Chef Knife to work preparing a Caribbean salt cod salad while sharing the techniques, flavors, and stories behind the dish.

The event is free and open to the public. Come learn something new, meet fellow food lovers, and enjoy a taste of Caribbean cooking.
