The Ringed crayfish is our inspiration for August’s foraging club colorway! This critter is native to central North America and can be seen in many central states. Recently, however, the Ringed crayfish has been found in New England, California, and Oregon. Back in 2015 they were first spotted in the Willamette River drainage and raised alarms for local biologists. Ringed crayfish end up dominating other crayfish populations, resulting in depleting populations of the local Signal crayfish. This is most likely because of Ringed crayfish being used as bait and subsequently being released into the wild. Despite their invasive tendencies, their coloring is what drew our eye. These guys can have a variety of color in their little bodies - specifically, that weird minty, slate blue/green caught our eye. Pair that with the bronzey speckles and it makes for the most stunning yarn!!

Local maker Hannah Kennedy is going to be in the shop this Saturday, September 5th, with hand made merit badges and other embroidered goodies! We’re so excited to have her in the shop. Hannah is also coming in for a Floral Embroidery class on September 12th, and some other fun workshops in the coming months.

Hannah is a Portland-based fiber artist known for her embroidery designs and craft-based creations. Her work is colorful, meditative, and deliberate. Hannah is inspired by the natural world, childhood nostalgia, and mystical symbolism.

The Under Story Knit-A-Long starts TODAY! We’re casting on our cardigans and shawls as you read this. If you want more information on the knit-a-long, check it out on our website!! It runs until November 30th so you still have plenty of time to grab your yarn and get started.

We want to take a moment to say congratulations to Chloe Benjamin for this incredible release. Under Story is officially out today! Being even a small part of this journey is so special to us 💘 If you haven’t yet, make sure to head to your fav local bookstore or library and pick up your own copy of Under Story.

Sari Nordlund has designed both a cardigan and shawl using our yarns. The Under Story Cardigan features all-over cablework, referencing the sweater that our main character Laurel herself is working on in the story. Originally designed in our Smoke colorway, this is a timeless knit with a collar and double knit button band. The cable motif carries over to a little shawl if you’re looking for a smaller project. Choose from Marona or Maven + Fae for your newest cast-on!

The 2026 Undine MAL is officially over 🥲

Undine completely changed my relationship with summer knitting. The Undine MAL is such a wonderful way to share that love for warm-weather projects! Seeing everyone’s makes is so creatively energizing and fulfilling. Here are just a few of the finished projects we saw this year :’)

After moving into our new home on Belmont, we realized we had some extra room to play with new products. We’ve been slowly introducing some new brands into the shop. One of our faves is Room Shop! Their phone strap has become a staple for most of our staff members, and the little scrunchies and bag charms are to die for!! We brought in a variety of scrunchies and other accessories, all available online now.
