We’ve had some issues with our wooden wick candles. They can be temperamental but there’s always a fix.
Wooden wicks cannot be trimmed too short. They will drowned in the wax.
Before your next burn, scrape out a little wax and remove it. Just a little.
Instead of cutting the wick, just flake off the very top pieces with your finger.
Once the wick is lit, swirl the melted wax around and away from the wick a few times.
This should definitely get you on the right track and back to a nice clean burn.
