It started with my elderly cat needing an expensive surgery and the subsequent hustle for commissions to help pay for it, and ended this past week as I sent this stunner off to it's new home. This piece was an absolute joy to make and I'm so happy with how it turned out. I can't tag the new owner (I tried) but I have it on good authority that she loves it. She's a high school math teacher, so the school colors and funky, geometric design were a perfect choice.

It's not perfect and it took me a literal week of trial and error, but I think I've finally got this headband figured out. Mostly. It needs some tweaking and I've got notes for the next one, but I think this one is good enough for now.

Sweater season is on the way so I figured I'd get ahead of the game. Sadly, the awesome honeycomb stitch in the last photo didn't make the final cut but I've got some other projects in mind that will be perfect for.

Wow, it's been a minute since I've posted anything here but I'm still kicking. Current project: hand sewing a blind hem on a wedding dress. Doing it by hand definitely wasn't my plan, and my fingers are currently threatening mutiny, but you gotta do what you gotta do. So this was a nice five minute break, but time to get back to it. Deadlines to meet and this dress isn't gonna sew itself.

It's not all yarn and masks over here. I do ALL the fiber arts, including sewing my favorite little girl's dream birthday gown. She designed it all on her own, and left the logistics of making it a reality to me. Overall, we're both very pleased with the results and she says it's exactly what she always wanted.

Yes, I know some of you have seen this photo on my personal page. I still covered her face here because my shop page is public, but my children are not.

Coming soon! Reusable water balloons! All you need is a bucket of water to dunk them in. I'm working on a stockpile before I figure out pricing, but I should have a few sets ready to go in a couple of days.

My newest small investment. A bias tape maker probably doesn't seem like a big deal, but it's going to help so much with my upcoming projects.

Finally finished! I'm not a quilter. I cursed my way through most of this project. I've been stabbed more times than I could possibly count. The eye holes didn't work as planned because the instructions were vague and unhelpful so I had to fudge them a bit. But overall, I'm pleased with the way it turned out, even though I hated making it and I'm not ever doing it again. At least I can check this one off my list lol. Never again 😂

I have no business taking on this particular project, but I'm a glutton for punishment and biting of more than I can comfortably chew is one of my favorite hobbies so here I am, 3 days into a project that's about a mile past my skill set. But I'm doing it because of course I am. Is it prefect? Not even close. Is it better than I anticipated? Significantly! Am I selling these? Not on your life. I mean, I will, but I'm pricing them so prohibitively expensive that hopefully nobody asks for one lol. Now if I can just finish this one. There's still so much to do.

I'm still making masks (message me if you want to place an order), but orders have slowed enough that I finally have some time to also tackle some personal projects. Right now, I'm multitasking by finally getting all the plastic shopping bags out of my kitchen and turning them into "plarn" (dumbest name ever). Once I have them all cut, tied, and balled, I'll be crocheting it into camping mats. It's a good "free time" project because there's no real rush or deadline, and I can add to it a little at a time as I acquire more bags, the scraps/torn bags can still be recycled, and I don't have bags of bags of bags taking over the kitchen. It's a win from all angles.
